this monster is called "admin privilege" and the shit in tail section is the ban hammer mutation.
this monster will appear in the game after you logged into the game at least once and after you have something critical to say about it on the internets.

when encountering the monster in the tactical mission, if it hits just once any player assets, the game automatically uninstalls and you have to wait to play it again when it releases on Steam.
so killing it without any damage and in one turn is paramount.

I haven't followed the development of PP to closely in the last couple of months, but I am pretty sure that this has not been posted here before:

The Epic deal will certainly make Phoenix Point a better game at no extra cost to backers. We are pouring everything we can into development, ready for launch in September. We have expanded the team to 55 developers and we are securing outsourcing contracts to put more content and polish into the initial release. All of us at Snapshot are committed to making the game as great as it can be.

The two stretch goals from the fig campaign - sea bases and underwater missions - will form the basis of the first 2 DLC packs. There will be at least 1 more major DLC pack during the launch year, plus a number of free updates for all players.

So underwater missions will come, thinking about you Alienman (or more precise your avatar)

But why would you ever take one to occupy limited flyer space when you could take another rifleman instead?
Same applies for vehicles currently four level 4 or higher soldiers are way way more powerful than an Armadillo (which needs a driver) or the Scarab.
But the game is still in pre-alpha and not balanced.

This conundrum applies to original X-com and all derivatives of it.
"Why take a unit to mission that doesn't get better with experience" ; besides the reasons of novelty/emergency/ way to mitigate mind control or cheap base defense?

That looks derpy as hell and Piratez did mutant creatures as auxiliary units better.

Perhaps Mudoggys will be upgradeable tech?
Maybe, but personally I doubt it (that they still use the old models), it is not the first time they completely scrap game ready content (think about all the stuff from around Fig) also the artists do a good job in making it visually clear what is what and to which faction it belongs (just think about all the New Jericho stuff, it is easy to get that all armors, weapons and vehicles are from the same faction). I think that this mutog looks to drastically different to the one's before.
