All the HUD & Points stuff looks retarded. Great that cockpit cam is back. I hope it drives like a sim, or atleast has a sim setting for the controls.

Whoa, man. This looks amazing, so excited to give it a try (even if at its lowest settings :negative:).

With all the modern gfx why cant they make the actual speedo/tachometer readable and have a working cabin view?
Ive been driving for almost 20years, old cars, new cars day & night never had any problems seeing that shit irl.

Those prototype racing cars reminded me of Tamiya mini 4wd toys. I guess that's where Tamiya get their ideas from.

The physics seem quite good for the type of simcade game it is. I played the original Grid for about 11 hours last month, getting up near to the very end but I just couldn't be assed to play the 6 extra hours I had left and finish the game because it just stopped being fun. Touring car, open wheel and endurance racing were just a chore to play and unfortunately a big part of the later game, but on the opposite I found muscle cars, touge, drift and pro tuned really fun but beyond tier 2 they pretty much end all of those events. I haven't played Grid 2 much or Autosport at all, but I hope they can make the game more fun overall.

Oh, and that texture pop in looks brutal in the video above, look at that Audi R8 at around the 14 minute mark, it still has LOD textures despite being close to each other for over a minute. That's just embarrassing.

I see this game caught the "Even every fart must be rewarded with points" disease that Forza Horizon has as well.

Looks pretty badass but the question remains: can it unseat NASCAR Heat 4 as Racing GOtY?

I really despise this thing racing games do where they display the correct line to you. It shouldn't even be an option. Let me choose the line, and deal with the consequences if I do it incorrectly or sloppily. As someone who spent a pretty decent amount of time with the first game as well as Autosport (fuck GRID 2), I don't see why they don't go back to the style of the first game. This pseudo arcade-sim stuff doesn't gel properly. The first GRID is one of my favourite racing games, and I really just want a rehash of it with more cars, tracks and better graphics.

You remind of one guy I saw complaining about car handling in TC2 being "too hard" after he turned off all the assists. After he got told to either get good or turn on the assists he replied that he should be able to play how he wants, without assists, and the game should be dumbed down to his level instead.

You're doing the exact same thing, except in reverse.

Can drive around the track like a sloppy asshole, even crash full stop and still come in first on “hard” difficulty? My kinda racing gaem!
