They tell us more than you think. They tell us this was a fuckup, Larian didn't want it to be known already.

Yeah looking at layers from the metadata, they likely planned gradual change of the logo video, slowly hyping things up.

Meh, remember all the inXile trademarks we used to discover? And the Pillars of Eternity 2 site with the Vailian letters and stuff? A little bit of pre-announcement buzz never hurt anyone. They didn't have to put those text strings in the image if they wanted to hide it...

I like Baldur's Gate so much it's rather embarrassing.

...

And I don't know what to think about this...

Well... at least it's not Bioware or Beamdog. So that's good. Can we count on proper PnP DnD implementation?

Wait niggers till you hear Avelone is heading this train.
And it will be turn based.

Sven will fuck codex ass without lube lol

Either way this will be either trainwreck or something amazing.

It'll be trash if they try to make it a direct sequel, better off just doing a totally new low-level adventure in the Baldur's Gate region of Faerun.

So...i guess they will use the Original Sin 2 engine for this game right? When i hear BG3 made by Larian, i just picture Misc in the middle of Arx.

I dont care what anyone says, but if they fix the stupid Armor system (wich they seem to know its shit already and fixing it in Fallen Heros) and fix the Initiative system, then TB BG could be great.

Also i hope they finally implement the day/night cycle with working shops schedules, at the end of the day this is going to be Divinity: Baldur's Gate Sin.

There is nothing to fix. If they don't implement proper D&D 5e rules there will be RIOTS! :timetoburn:

Eh, that art is actually...pretty okay, no? Better than a lot of 2000s-era WoW-style D&D art. Looks sort of like an attempt to combine that with more oldschool AD&D style.

Those art are from "unofficial" adventure book written by James Ohlen. You can find some high-res versions from artists' portfolio:

Some of art from James Ohlen's 5e book Heroes of Baldur's Gate.

Baldur's Gate city map

Last year I had the pleasure and privilege to work with James Ohlen and Arcanum Worlds on this piece. It began as the 20 year anniversary of the original Baldur’s Gate video game, which I played many, many times. It was cool to work with the man who helped bring that to life way back then.

I wanted this version of the city to be inspiring, as well as accurate, in so far as it was possible for me. I didn’t have access to anyone at WOTC to let me know where certain things were located. So I spent a LOT of time researching things. And then we changed the location of one anyways. That was due to an encounter map you’ll see later. I hope this version will stand the test of time and be around for another 20 years.

It ended up becoming a campaign setting book over on the DMsGuild - https://www.dmsguild.com/product/269398/Heroes-of-Baldurs-Gate-5e
Definitely go pick up a copy. Works like that help more maps get made. Cheers, J

Baldur's Gate - Sword Coast map

Last year I had the pleasure and privilege to work with James Ohlen and Arcanum Worlds on this piece. It began as the 20 year anniversary of the original Baldur's Gate video game, which I played many, many times.

And, aside from the classic crashes, I enjoyed immensely. Except the Flaming Fist. ;P

So this was beyond cool to work with the man who helped bring that to life way back then.

I wanted this version to be something people could be inspired by, and hopefully transported into the environment.

I hope this version will stand the test of time and be around for another 20 years.

Baldur's Gate

this is the cover art for "Heroes of Baldur's gate" made for Arcanum for their D&D rpg add-on.
I had a real blast working on it as a huge fan of the games.

Sorry Bester for doubting you. Still can't believe that this is really happening.

I know nothing about the 5th Edition, have forgotten realms changed a lot since the second edition?
