Keanu is the urban action/dark future star. I think Johnny Mnemonic made more of an impression than people give it credit for

Btw I don't remember Coppola's direction being so hokey

Calling it now: Johnny Silverhand is just a hallucination caused by a virus or V's injuries. He'll appear to the companion at various points without really interacting with too many other people. Expensive to get Keanu for too long, so he'll probably be in key story moments only.

No, I think he appears as glitched hallucination because you can select Johnny Silverhand as your role model. Depending on your choices you will see different things like your childhood hero, the reason why you are in Night City and your most important life event whle trying to sort out from Scrapyard. Same thing happens in Detroit: Become Human - one of main characters gets dumped in trash, reboots, has impaired vision and hearing and has to find spare parts to get out.

I also suspect this trailer shows what happens if you double-cross the corporate who gives you Eddies to buy the drone from official gameplay from Maelstorm gang - they track you through the virus on the credit slip, Jackie gets killed in process and Dex ventilates you. Don't know about T-bug, she was supposed be on your side because player character gets help from her before he meets Dexter. Maybe she is the one who fixes/stabilizes you and then helps you after you wake up.

On December 24, 1999, Reeves' girlfriend, Jennifer Syme, gave birth eight months into her pregnancy to Ava Archer Syme-Reeves, who was stillborn. The strain put on their relationship by their grief resulted in their breakup several weeks later. On April 2, 2001, Syme was driving alone on Los Angeles' Cahuenga Boulevard when she sideswiped three parked cars, rolled over several times, and was thrown from the car. Authorities believed she died instantly. She was reportedly being treated for depression and taking two prescription drugs, which police found in her car. Reeves, who was scheduled to begin shooting back-to-back Matrix sequels during the subsequent spring, sought "peace and time" to deal with the incident, according to his friend Bret Domrose, a guitarist in Reeves' alternative rock band Dogstar.

Keanu should have played Max Payne
John Wick was the movie Max Payne should've been.

Finally, after months of preparation, we can share with you two big things we have been hard at work on — CP2077's cinematic story trailer and a brand new gameplay demo! Yes, yes, we know — for now, the demo is only available to the lucky ones who managed to get tickets to E3 and the rest of you will have to wait until gamescom or the public dev Q&A unveiling stream at PAX in August. Yeah, we can already feel the bashing you're gonna give us online :(. "Why are you not treating us fair", "why is the gameplay not being released right away?". The reason is we want to make the most out of the months of work we put into the demo and first showcase gameplay live at E3 and gamescom. Releasing gameplay right away would make the gamescom presentations pointless and would significantly limit our chance to build hype. Why do we need to build hype? To get more gamers interested in CP2077 and, hopefully, convince them to give it a go. We are putting our hearts and souls into making CP2077 a great game and we would like as many gamers as possible to find out about it and experience its amazing story. Also, hype can turn into sales (after all, we are not a charity), and good sales allow us to grow, take creative risks and deliver new, great games for you to enjoy.

And let’s not forget about one more super important announcement — the release date. Less than a year from now, on April 16th, 2020, you’ll finally be able to sink your teeth into Cyberpunk 2077.

As you probably noticed, we prepared 2 editions of the game. Why only two? Because when we pre-order ourselves, we don’t like to go to Wikipedia to compare content. We have a simple deal: there’s the standard edition, the one we think most gamers will choose, and a limited Collector’s Edition. While we're pretty proud of the CE, we'd like to turn your attention to that first one. Why? Because we have really maxed out the physical capacity of the box with goodies. We think this raises the bar for "standard" and we hope you'll think so, too. Also, since pre-orders are live, you might be wondering if there’s any point in placing an order now. Yes, if you want to give us some extra support. Pre-orders help us build anticipation — the more copies you pre-order, the more likely it is for us to get retail (both digital and physical) behind the game. Therefore, if you like what you see, we will appreciate you "voting yes" for CP2077 with a pre-order. If you are still hesitating though, we would rather you wait for more materials or reviews. Our goal is for you to truly enjoy CP2077 and not regret a pre-order.

Take care and looking forward to seeing you in Night City!

That E3 presentation was a breath of fresh air, the dude's just so likeable. And I'm fully aware of how bad his acting can be. I've watched Johnny Mnemonic. More than once.
His acting is great for as long as you cast him for a fitting role, that role being Keanu Reeves. Nobody can play Keanu Reeves better than him.

Looks good. FP view is as constricting es ever.

A bit more darker time of day presentation this time around. The world looks dense and stylistically great.
Keanu is a bro.

I laughed. I mean there's nothing bad about it, just something intrinsically comical about sudden in-game Keanu. But I guess it would've been the same with anyone highly recognizable.

Also there was rumour about Lady Gaga in the game a while back.

The next thing you know the game is filled with all kinds of big name stars you will feel like you are watching a edgier version of Oscar.

Not big on Keanu but he's a likable dude for various reasons, good choice and timing on their part.

Gotta say, as soon as CDR got money they put it into developing something worthwhile and interesting, instead of going casual and milking DLCs like every other big studio, yeah Witcher had some popamole tendencies in its mechanics, but overall the game was head above everything else that year (or even decade). I feel Cyberpunk will have an even broader appeal (and likely some streamlined systems), but it doesn't make it any less impressive and inspiring, good on them for trying to push the envelope and actually putting some effort in AAA development.

What does the scanner see? Into the head? Down into the heart? Does it see into me, into us? Clearly or darkly? I hope it sees clearly because I can't any longer see into myself. I see only murk. I hope for everyone's sake the scanners do better. Because if the scanner sees only darkly, the way I do, then I'm cursed and cursed again. And will only wind up dead this way, knowing very little, and getting that little fragment lost, too.

Shame the main plot point was spoiled at the very beginning of that movie. It was otherwise a very faithful adaptation of the novel.

Half of acting is the "presence" anyway, and Keanu has his own specific kind in spades. Especially just after huge success of John Wick 3.

:what:

Not only top selling, it's currently #4 in Steam's Top Wishilist in a matter of hours: https://store.steampowered.com/search/?filter=popularwishlist&os=win

(#1 - Halo, #2 - Bloodlines 2, #3 - The Outer Worlds, #5 - Baldur's Gate 3)

I'm expecting this to be at least #2 in a few days, #1 likely.

If you want to go AAA... thats the way to do it.

We will see how the gameplay handles and how much has it been adjusted since the first reveal in the following days.

I wonder how much of city is explorable. Because from trailers we already seen seems like most of the city buildings have some interior in them. So it is either most of them and city is very small or not that much of them and city is big. Obviously procedural generation could help A LOT (like in shenmue) but it would be really really expensive and time consuming to create shitload of interiors at this level of quality.

Looks good. FP view is as constricting es ever.

Like what ? Game is done in city and will be roling with a lot of cramped spaces. If you have 3rd person camera then you need high as fuck roofs which destroy atmosphere because otherwise camera can't work inside building. It is know problem for decades at this point.
If they would pick 3rd person camera they would have to shy away from most of interiors.

I laughed. I mean there's nothing bad about it, just something intrinsically comical about sudden in-game Keanu. But I guess it would've been the same with anyone highly recognizable.

Doubt it would work for anyone else.

I can't tell if that video is something that happens in game or just something they made up as a trailer.
