Or just get the Sprint feat and Interloper feat for faster stealth travel.

Sprint is cool tech, but it doesn't help when you have to slog through cities, the cd is too long. Suggesting Interloper is just missing the point entirely.

Underrail really is not that big so I do not get this obsession with higher movement speed. I do not mind it one way or the other but you are turning a mole hill into a mountain.
Core City has muggers in certain areas which you can easily avoid with Interloper and decent stealth. Same goes for a couple of areas which spawn Siphoners from water for example so going through these via stealth is utlimately faster. If you opt for high stealth as a means to avoid combat then Interloper makes things a lot easier and you can quickly and safely go through many maps without any danger of getting discored, because regardless how strong you are even sneaking through with Interloper will be faster than any combat, especially on Autistic difficulty. So no it does not miss the point entirely.

there are also location that would allow you to cheese without stealth if running was simply allowed. You would be allowed to run through corridors on non stealth builds and bypass few fights. Whats more it will trivialize DC eye effect.
You would need to add extra detection mechanics on top of that and suddenly its not that easy feature...
No need to add extra detection mechanics, they already have an intricate sound design that makes NPCs attracted to sounds of explosion, gunshots, and other NPCs/critters calling for help. If you go around running in corridors, just make the NPCs gets attracted to the noise. If you sprint for a while AND then enter stealth the last moment before an NPC turn up in the corner, just make their detection already entered yellow/orange state and make them actively search for you in the area where you sprinted last. And make it attract even more unwanted attention if you go around running while wearing metal boots.
good point. One thing i dont remember: wasnt it only intelligent enemies investigating noise?
I vaguely remembering dogs investigating noises.

If it isn't the case, I really hope there being more options to make noises. Fallout and (iirc) Arcanum allows you to throw around rocks though they don't have Underrail's sound design, yo Styg would you consider implementing rocks and pebbles as throwable objects to give players more options for subterfuge playstyle? Pretty please?

Robots investigate when cameras go red, not sure about noise. Mutants, Crawler type enemies and Coil Spiders are also sensitive to noises, in case of Crawlers it is something I take advantage off when doing the mission for the quest from Myles fetching that device which disables robots from that abandoned warehouse. When you go down an elevator and pop one of those kamikaze bots the Death Stalkers come from that cavern to the north and pass the robots, who then engage them in a fight and killing them. The robots have no problems killing Death Stalkers and I have no problems killing any kind of robot. Win/win!

What the fuck? Bots and critters can engage in a fight?! This is fucking news to me. They've always been keeping to themselves in my experience :argh:

Combat is content, the issue is slogs like train->house or train->smelter.

Stealth has nothing to do with that, the pace is fine when exploring, but horribly slow when just traveling.

Some weird shit happened with my Discord account, so I can't access it, found that out like 2 weeks ago, send message to support and no positive results yet. :|
It asking for phone confirmaion which I'm not intended to give.
I have no idea wtf happened and how to solve it sadly.
So I can't access Underrail channel and take part in testing, at least for exact that moment.
You can just post bugs on the forums, Discord is not required.

10 dollars makes sense Lav beer and subscription to italian cuckold porn sites when the missus not around dont cost that much. Can Stygs and team drive to romania and find Pierre Begue? You'll probably have to ask around he is most likely sneaking around his neighbors yard eating up the mushrooms and roots when they at work. He obviously doesn't care about money so drop him off in good forested area to make him happy maybe suggest the renfield diet. Summer started and there plenty of bugs then help him finish KotC 2.

Giving an actual release date has increased my anxiousness to crack fiend levels. Can we get another blog post sir? Maybe describe some of the new feats?

What? I also tryed to do that, but crawlers didn't attack robots.
Hmmmmmmm.

Well, problem is, as I found out 2 days ago that I can't login forum too - I forgot my password as usual, I rely on autologin usually, and when I ask to change it "A mail has been sent to your email address. Click the link in that mail to set a new password." and can't find that email - it just didn't arrive.
I checked spam and trash bin - nothing. Checked two email adresses just in cas I forgot which ine was used for Underrail forum.
I'll try to register a new one discord acc I guess.
Do you really sure that forum works as intended?
That's first time such shit happened with emails.

I have done it twice so far in each of my last two playthroughs. I take the western elevator, open the doors to my left, especially the last one before the big room with the two robots. I kill the kamikaze bot right in front of it, close myself into the room and wait until the combat noises stop, then take out the bots. Snipe with armor piercing bullets has little problems with those, otherwise I would just ignore them and sneak past.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
so i am planning to finally roll my new character since i'd probably reach the point where the expacs start around the release date.

i was thinking making a pure psi build but

i remember the final boss fucked Pure PSI build. i never played psi before, but i remember the effect the boss have like fucked PSI users pretty good in the ass

my other option is probably make psi/melee hybrid because melee seems badass.

I've got a PSI-Monk/Stealth build going that works really well and is a lot of fun to play. The game has some great options for fist weapons, and laying the beat down is very satisfying with a good build.

Last boss killed in two turns by full PSI on Autistic difficulty.

Wait - could it be that you didn't kill all kamikaze bots, so they attacked bugs and that caused agreassion of big robots? And if you destroy all kamikaze bots, then DS just eh... crawled past plasma bots without them noticing bugs?

If ypou want PSI then you should definitely wait a bit, there are a bit of important options for them in Expedition.

I kill exactly 1 kamikaze bot. Then I lock myself in and wait. Worked on my last two playthroughs.

Temporal Manipulation has some interesting looking skills. A fair amount of them seem to be pure utility and thus don't require that much in actual point investment to be effective which is always welcome in hybrid builds.

Just had Death Stalkers fighting Coil Spiders in the West Wing of the Institute of Tchort, the groups you encounter a short way away from the lunatic Tchortist Mateo.

I have no idea what I should give up on my PSI Sniper though. Thought Control is just too awesome for stealth kills, CC and of course Locus of Control is probably one of the strongest feat in the game. Psychokinesis is pretty effective at lower skill levels but Disruptive Field and Implosion are really good abilities and the damage of Imprint really skyrockets later. Nevermind the superstrong Force Field and TK Punch.

Having played through the game many many times, I can say that Speedhack is wonderful. Even if you don't cheese merchants/super steel (both overrated, IMO), it's just super convenient. Walking back and forth through 15 non-combat zones? Up the speed x5, disable autosaves, get there in no time. Disarming traps? x5 speed. Fishing? x5 speed. Go back and forth between speeds by pressing F1-F4.

I want to gift a friend of mine the base game now that it's on sale. When the expansion comes out, will people who don't own the expansion have access to Temporal Manipulation and the new weapon types?

Also, the fact that this is a mid level expansion has got me curious. Either you finish the base game and trivialize the content in the expansion OR you do the expansion first and trivialize the rest of the base game. How was this issue dealt with?

The new weapons and psi and the associated feats are confirmed to be locked to the expansion. There also additions being made to the progression system that goes beyond just gaining more skill points and stats and I don't know if these are also expansion only but my hunch is that they are so better off just getting both the base game and the expansion for the complete experience.

I want to gift him the game since it's on sale but I don't want to be buying him everything since I don't even know if he'll like and play the game. On the other hand, if he does enjoy it and buys the expansion, then a bunch of stuff will unlock out of nowhere in the middle of his playthrough. Anyway I dunno, will have to think about what to do.
