I tried replaying it a few months ago. ME1's galaxy looks big when you glance at it, but when you dig into it you realize how empty it is. Combine that with the mediocre writing and clunky controls, I only made it a little more than halfway through before uninstalling. I liked it a lot more back in the day, guess I was more easily impressed.

ME 1 is solid. Garus and Wrex are bros and the other companions are not terrible either. Story is OK, missions are OK, combat is not great but at least your skills made a difference.

Last decent game Bioware made. Also the last game that Bioware made before they went from a little gay to full on faggotry. Go figure.
DA:O is better than ME1 in almost every regard.

ME1 holds up well* aside from the same warehouse being used over and over for side quests and the rng planet terrain. It's a nice callback to 70/80s sci-fi, has a stellar soundtrack and to this day I'm still fond of those skyboxes.

* Play a biotic class and give Wrex/Ashley the immunity skill or whatever it is called and they'll turn into immortal meatshields while you keep disabling and throwing enemies around.

To be fair, you can't really be picky when it comes down to sci-fi themed RPGs. One of the many reasons to look forward to Colony Ship.

I tried this game 3 times, it is just too much decline. Also I don't really like Star Wars

Guess I don't enjoy getting topped by gay elves as much as you.

Also DA is garbage.

It's only good for the porn, I remember I smacked it so hard to a Liara and Tali picture my cum hit the fucking ceiling and I had to sneak into the garage in the middle of the night to get the ladder to clean it.

ME is cool. I need to play it more though. I did love the lore and stuff though. Shit was cool to me.

There was one music piece that was okay, and the graphics style was *sometimes* nice. Cant say anything good about anything else.

I plan on playing all the Mass Effect games (including Andromeda) at some point just for reference's sake. I only have one question: Do the older games run okay on modern hardware?

Thought it was some sort of spin off. Also it reminded me of KOTOR but I actually managed to complete that.

It largely comes down to the question of whether you prefer a tightly-paced space opera ARPG with popamole cover mechanics to an MMO-inspired generic fantasy trash combat fest with cooldowns.

DA:O isn't really much more than ME/KotOR in disguise, with a duller setting and characters and a lot more filler combat. Of course it's got more mechanical depth, but it'd be a slog to go through even if the writing didn't suck so much. It's a prime example of how having more in the way of RPG mechanics doesn't automatically turn something into a better game.

I agree that DA:O isn't much more, but it's still more. However I don't know how anyone could say ME is tight-paced? Even amidst a global crisis, you can go dicking around in Mako, looking for some more aluminium, or empty bottles, no problem.
Sure the characters may say we need to rush to thwart the evil that will destroy the universe as we know it, but the game does absolutely nothing to back that up.

There is absolutely no sense of urgency.

You don't need to be gay to enjoy elves, but I suspect it certainly helps.
