Game 1 - Blood River
Chaos vs Eldar
It's a tough matchup for Eldar in this map.
Not much time to set up defenses, but going 2 Guardian squads first seems unnecessary since bonesinger is one of the fastest workers to train in the game. Just 6 secs and they're out. Get that Aspect built up quicker for much-needed firepower.

Mines could be a good idea. But your fast LP2 is also the correct response. Unfortunately, Farseer is not the right answer to Raptors. It's downhill from there when Chaos successfully wiped out a guardian squad in 5 seconds and a worker in 3 seconds. They also denied Eldar their 2 strategic points.

Eldar tried to mount a comeback with mass reapers but there's too much cost expended from too little income. A Predator Tank rides in and it was over for the 3 Reaper squads.

Game 2 - Shrine of Excellion
Tau vs Space Marine
Map gives fast resources and really not much room to avoid engagements. Seems like an okay start for marines since the Tau went for the safer opening and masses Fire Warrior. A lack of general match up knowledge prevents Space Marines from winning any engagements early on. You must try to melee the Fire Warriors or disrupt them. Or else they'll out-shoot and outrange for free.

The high resource income nature of the map lets SM reach tier 2 at almost the same time. They went for Sacred Artifact > Grey Knights + Chaplain option. That's fine. But Tau has 3 fully reinforced Fire Warrior squad with Tier 2 optics upgrade and a pathfinder team. One mark and the Grey Knights wiped in 5 seconds. They couldn't even finish casting the psychic inquisition before dying.

So we have tier 1 marine squads (with no heavy weapons) + grey knights with force commander and chaplain trying to engage a tier 2 fire warriors + tau commander with missile pod + pathfinder + a barracuda.

That's too much to ask. 2-0 to Roxor.

Nothing much to say, shame about missing G2 replay.
G1
Janior takes the early turret rush. Hello friend forgot that Sisters Servitor demolish can counter it easily. This is a huge disadvantage in Quest's triumph. Necron mass wins.

G2
No records of the game was found

G3
DE vs Necron. Hello fren went the wrong build order. It was somewhat 'ok' at the start but sloppy play and underestimating 3 Fully reinforced, upgraded Necron Warrior ended his army of 2 mandrakes and hellion + 1 jet bike.
No chance to come back after a full army wipe.

Kinda entertaining matchup
Game 1 - CSM vs SM - Quest Triumph
The Classic. CSM made some mistakes early on. Unfortunately SM kinda lost focus and languishes in T1.5 while CSM pulls ahead. T2 CSM is pretty strong with heavy bolter and HP research.

Game 2 - SOB vs IG - Battle Marsh
It's a bad match up, but the map pick made it worse IMO. I think there's too much emphasis in mass guardsman when a lot of resource should've been spent on getting to T2 asap, because IG vehicles is the only thing that can keep this matchup competitive. Sisters went hardcore T1.5 mass with flamers and it was just auto-attack move from there as the Guardsmen gets melted down in masses. No Command Squad harass was performed and that played a factor.

Now the question is whether I should advance the match day already or wait for replay commentary first :philosoraptor:

G1 - SM vs TAU
Amazing. But nothing compared to Game 2. Wait for it IMO.

Dont feel so bad. What you need is just more familiarity to recognize 'advantage n disadvantage' situations.
A lot of DOW matches are decided in such a way that whoever can exploit an opportunity can win the game.
Missing a lot of opportunities add up over time.

in the wise words of kenny rogers

Janior, remember this lesson: tear down before building, fail before succeeding. This can also be applied to martial arts training.
JnxtLst.jpg
Too much greed results in loss; Do not rush into opponent's sphere of influence before you're fully prepared; remember to harass; Reserve energy for defense while attacking, Abandon certain battles to hold the initiative on the board; Abandon less profit for the purpose of getting more; Take the risk when the whole game is at stake...
