OK so I am level 12, and I haven't even completed Depot A yet. Hard difficulty. is this normal, or is classic XP system completely broken?

OK wait it turns out I am level 9 not 12. It just feels like I am level 12 because the game is easy. :(

So I find an older save, go back to Core City and level up to 16, boost my hacking up as far as possible, go back to the island, turn on the plasma turrets and laugh like a goddamned fool at how much of an absolute cakewalk that invasion had become. Jeee-suhs H.

So... it's either have Hacking or Electronics, or else fuck you?

In my view, just about every "make big fight easier" widget should be a solvable puzzle, albeit one that can sometimes be bypassed if you happen to have this or that skill. This goes double for REALLY big fights.

The only reason I like to take Lockpicks and Hacking on many characters is that I enjoy poking my nose into everything. Otherwise, they could easily be skipped.
There is, in fact, another way to turn the plasma turrets on with no hacking or any other skill. It just requires going somewhere and getting something first. The statue is strictly hacking and electronics though.

Tygrende - whats your sniper/psi build please?
The build only uses temporal manipulation, mostly to cut the Aimed Shot cooldown with Limited Temporal Increment. You could put a few points in psychokinesis for force field, if you want to. Also, keep in mind that the base CON is actually 5, it jumps to 7 at level 30 because of the Increased Constitution feat. You could replace it with Psycho-Temporal Accelaration if you don't want the HP, doesn't really matter at that point.

That's why I use the Yell perk so that the enemies offensive skills are reduced, therefore I have a higher change to dodge/evade attacks.
I run pure PSI, which offers plenty of ways to crowd control. Specifically, the pyromania perk or however its called - just set any fool you want on fire. And if you can't, just throw some ice spells on him and he'll be moving at a snail's pace. It's really a build that relies on perpetually stunlocking the entire battlefield, which allows me to hit far above my weight even on dominating. Can only recommend, it's really fun especially once you get fun stuff like thermodynamicity or tranquility and spend the opening round of combat essentially nuking the map with all of your psi points, after which every enemy there is either on fire or so slow he'll waste his round just trying to get near :D

I found the game incredibly easy back in the day on normal, so I play it on dominating now, and I definitely can't complain about the game being too easy now. You should get different encounter composition, IIRC, as well as a lot less money

On the topic of crawlers, is there a way to actually hit them or force them down when they seemingly disappear up into the ceiling?
The real answer is that shops upgrade their inventories at key milestones in the game.
I haven't played Underrail in a while, is there any good reason for this?
Do you unlock trading between factions? Get access to new materials?
Or is it just arbitrary?
I've only experienced one such "upgrade" so far, and while it's not stated (that I've noticed) why they suddenly have TNT and TNT blueprints, it can be rationalized somewhat by the trains running again. It felt fairly arbitrary, though.
There's a great reason for it, actually: Shops still being filled with low-quality components that you no longer have any use for during the late game would be really fucking annoying.
I dunno, mine just upgraded for the first time, but it's still full of shit. Just outside, with some hacking, there's a vendor with items in the ~80-100+ range, whereas the regular vendors in the station only have a quality of ~30-50 or something. 60 maybe, tops. The difference is yuuuge.

Edit: Still on the topic of crawlers, I just want to state for the record what horseshit it is that they can consistently detect me while stealthing with 149 Stealth, while I'm apparently completely unable to detect them, despite having 13 Perception and nightvision. They just come out of stealth, stab, disappear, rinse and repeat, and the only way to detect them seems to be to bump into them when they come back - and the only indication I have of that is that the enemy turn takes a few milliseconds longer than the turns they're hiding in the ceiling.

A question for anyone having finished exploring the research facility:

Some more help needed please, about half of the DLC.
Is cracking the music cypher required to leave the Nexus? A security cam catches me when I head back up and activates a Naga Protector, which means it's not possible to go through there.
Edit: OK, killing the cam buys some time to turn on sneak and get away. Still feeling like I missed something huge at this location, though. Are we supposed to acquire something huge for camp security or anything?
Just like with Horticultural Center, you don't really need to find anything in particular and bring it to the camp. As the Professor said, simply exploring, gathering data and finding *anything* useful for the expedition, regardless for security, is fine. Especially those mobile device thingy from which data can be harvested and archived by Seeger.

If you're worried about the Naga protector, just try making some noise (probably with TNT) to draw its attention so it gets out of the elevator room. If that didn't work, try to catch its attention by making its detection go orange, it will prompt it to move to the general location where you were when its detection goes orange. I know this because it happened to me, I baited it to get its attention to orange and move as fast as I can to not get the detection goes red, but still makes it move outside elevator room.

why they suddenly have TNT and TNT blueprints
Old Jonas mentions that all TNT was requisitioned by Tanner to help clear the collapsed tunnel. After you got the drill working and the tunnel got cleared, it makes sense Tanner would stop requisioning TNT

Makes some sense, yeah. I mean, I can find fault in stuff like why the blueprints, then, but it's a "good enough" excuse as far as I'm concerned.

So, how does one get rid of Parasitic Infestation? Antidote doesn't cure it.

Plox mista epeli post the shotgun info in da wiki good sir!
I've probably memorized the relevant stats by now but I still need to satisfy my autism by randomly looking at the pages while at work!!

I don't think you can do much except take Iron Gut?

And don't sit around at low HP just in case you shit out a locust. (I think being on a jetski or some other special state prevents that also)

That move is actually a teleport. They climb up and then instantly climb back down somewhere nearby with stealth back on, and then they wait for the poison to work. No way to hit them unless you randomly guess where they teleported to and hit them with grenades, and good luck with that.

Or you can find their location with forcefield. When choosing where to place forcefield, tiles occupied by stealthed shit will appear darker on the 3x3 indicator, so you know where to lob fire ball or ice ball.

For dominating what would change? I have read that putting some points into Mercantile is a must.

That build is for DOMINATING.

No, not really. It's only a must if you absolutely want to buy best jet skis with best parts, buy a lot of super steel plates or find slightly better components before DC. If you're content with the aegis patroller (which is really good), 6-12 plates and +/- 150 components, you will be fine without it.

The 25% sell price hurts a little bit early on, but you quickly learn what items to take to make the most out of your loot and acummulate money from quest rewards. There's a lot of money to be earned at the Black Sea, and by a lot I really mean a lot.

Someone else promised to do shotguns, so I won't be stepping on their toes at this time. In general I won't be doing much more immediate Expedition additions to the wiki. I simply can't summon enough free time to wikify all the Expedition content to a level of quality I would be content with. Particularly quest/event/skillcheck scripting has gotten so complex and intertwined that researching all the details for wiki wouldn't be fun anymore. But I'll still be around to handle admin tasks and probably work on future game mechanics and item pages.

If you like the wiki, you could help it. Really satisfies that autism, plus you'd help all Underrail players out there.

I have one right now. Machete blueprint. I think I got it from one of the facilities in the Black Sea.

Is there any reason to not wipe the natives? The constant attacks are getting annoying.
