I feel like my crossbow+stealth character is just incapable of handling Expedition. I'm moving through savage territory now and getting absolutely raped. It seems like this whole part was designed not to be played by stealth characters at all. In any given area I can snipe one guy and then I have to rely on pure luck to wipe out 3 or more with a plasma grenade, otherwise I get destroyed. Starting a new character would be a huge setback since I'm well more than halfway through the game at this point.
Level? Tbh no matter the level you should be able to handle just about anything with MK3 Shock Bolts, it's just how it is with crossbows.

You can also just come back later, hell even post-DC if you want to. (tbh then you might actually get a chance to use veteran feats like Sea Dog to the fullest)
Level 16, and I haven't even seen a Mk3 shock bolt yet.

Christ, I have not played underrail in a while, but is the main game as tedious as the expansion?

One expansion map area alone had:

Several Hives
Regenerating Siphoners.
Crabs
Heartbreakers

All crammed into one very small area. Like what the fuck? And I can handle them, but Christ is it tedious.

In my opinion the expansion is substantially more poorly designed than the main game.

slaugthering native is absolutely the most fun part of expeditions. my favorite tactic (PSI) is attack one, then cast a barrier and wait till they are clumped together, then mass rage them. or cast the exploding death spell on the weakest one and kill him, watch his comrades blew up as he die.

(rather have a virus than an antivirus tbh)

:what:

So this is what the virtual version of an anti-vaxxer looks like, huh?

not really, if I'd seen the value of an antivirus software I'd use it, but for my needs I really don't need it.
don't visit porn sites (+other suspicious sites), don't open that email from a Nigerian Prince and don't use pirated software and you'll be fine. for my passwords I use a manager.
and it's really stress free to not have anything important on your PC (I have literally nothing exepct installed software on my HDD); so if it did start to act weird i'd just format C:/ whicht takes about the same amount of time as a full scan with antivirus and I do that shit once a year anyway.

Wait till you get to 3 Hives with rock wall, so you are forced to fight 3 Hives at same time.

Than you get like 8-9 sea wyrms near each other, 2 strongmen are nearby so gl with kiting. And hives not far.

And best part? You dont need to clear this area, it doesnt progress plot and nothing is there except 2 oddities.

Oh and kill like 50 spiders (maybe a bit more) and get like 100 charons for effort. No oddity or cool weapon.

But to be honest this is realistic.

In Underrail classic - you also killed like 10+ death stalkers and got nothing in return on map with them.

Oh, I just found Dude's new quest! Didn't know there were new quests in the main game too. Are there more or is it the only one?

Level 16 is way too low for almost any build to be raiding the Savage camps. Come back around 21-22.

I wouldn't go that far, but yes, 16 is in the low side to walk into dozens of savages in open areas and expect to come out alive. For a crossbow user? Definitely low. For PSI? painful but possible. For AR? Level 6 is fine I guess

Not a whole lot more in the main game, but Dude quest is a journey all must experience for themselves

Just don't do it at like level 8 and get stuck halfway

Finished Dude's new quest. The structure of the quest reminded me of BG2's mental asylum adventure with all the puzzles (and finishing each puzzle takes you to a whole new area), but it was a lot of fun on its own. Thumbs up! (I am starting to suspect that Dude used to be a Biocorp scientist)

On the other hand, I am Lv 14 now, and I still haven't found any biohazard vests anywhere to take on the burrowers comfortably. I hope I am just unlucky, because if it is a feature then I don't like it!

Biohazard vests pop up with decent frequency at Core City shops (near arena), for one.

Bio resist doesn't work against poisons, so don't bother.

Hmm... doesn't the burrower ranged attack need to overcome the tactical vest's bio-DT in order to be applied? I have always been assuming that this is case, but I don't remember if I have ever tested it. (I would happily test it right now, but I can't find the vest!)

If the biohazard tactical vest doesn't work against poison attacks, what does it work against?

while you are at it tell me if super steel sheet got extra dt against burrowers attacks, its not documented well now what it covers really
That should be edged weapons only, burrower attacks might be resisted by kevlar (bullets) but I haven't tested it, just heard rumors.

Burrowers? Yeah, just energy shield. Also they're a pretty low level enemy found in very specific places that you'll pass by on your route to OP powerdom, you really don't need to worry about them so much.

Kind of true, they are scariest in that Gauntlet segment probably, or if your difficulty level spawns Burrower Warriors in huge numbers.
