I'm replaying W2 ( i did not finish it and stopped at arizona).
I remember people saying the armor system was awful later to the point "naked" rangers was almost the way to go.
Not sure if the last version of DC changed that.
If not, anyone tried the AlterativeArmorSystem ?

Not necessary anymore. The way it works in the Director's Cut is that heavy armor suffers extra damage from energy weapons and light armor doesn't, no matter their armor value. Heavy armor is typically +1 over light armor of the same tier. That can be important but you can live without it.

So guys, anyone tried this on a PS4? Due to Reasons I'm doing most of my gaming, that is, a few hours a week at most, almost exclusively on a PS4. I can't imagine an RPG like this to be playable properly on a console, but maybe I'm wrong? [I played roughly halfway through the original release and would like to try again.]
Final Fantasy Tactics worked on a psp, so why would any rpg need a mouse and keyboard to work, especially a grid based turn based game

Wasteland 2 also works just fine on the Switch. I doubt the PS4 is any different. If Elwro is still somehow waiting for these responses 6 months later I'm sure he appreciates it.
I just like quoting stupid shit to make an example of it, he's obviously dead by now, but I have the satisfaction of being right

The difficulty in this game is trash, I played up to the titan base, on normal difficulty and the game will not spawn a raider with more than 50 health for half the game, while it makes guns that do 50+ damage readily available to you. Then I turn the difficulty up at the start of the titan area, and instead of making the enemies health normal like a rational game designer would do, they just buffed the damage they do and their accuracy, so random fucktard bandits with shit guns now do 60 damage per shot while I'm in cover instead of 30 like their gun says they should, yet they still have 60 health, this has to be some of the most retarded game design I've ever seen

I just figured out why

- Seasoned seems to be normal damage for all.
- Ranger seems to strip a third from yours, and increase monster damage by half, so I'd guess a 3/2 factor is applied. When dealing 12 damage, you'd in fact deal 12 * 2/3 = 8, while the AI would deal 12 * 3/2 = 18.
- Supreme Jerk seems to similarly apply a 2 factor. When dealing 12 damage you'd in fact deal 12 * 1/2 = 6 while the AI would deal 12 * 2 = 24

Retarded game design. My characters have 150 health and the enemies usually have 50, yet through the magic filter mine will do less, so fucking lazy.

The underlying game is quite good with the DC. Have you checked to see if any difficulty mods are out?

I'm playing it on gamepass, it's sad that I would need a mod for a difficulty, I'm sure there are as a toddler with down syndrome could beat it on normal

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Ranger was pretty fine for me most of the time.
Might be "cheaty" but who cares, it provided a challenge frequently enough. Also be careful of the spike in LA

My problem is they literally made it so braindead on normal, then use cheat codes instead of just making the health values logical, it's just a clusterfuck

I think that Ranger was too easy in AZ, but fun in CA. Liked the spike when you come there, but I think the combat was the best in the second part of CA.

The spike lasts only a short while in CA. Initially most mobs will one-shot you but soon it'll level up and the endgame is just as much of a roflstomp as in most RPGs.

That's why I said that the second part of CA is the best. When you max out your skills, the game starts throwing harder encounters on you. It should be doing it from the start, through.

Whats a good skill division between a ranger team for balanced and even leveling (without using other npcs, just your core ranger team)?
All of em have identical charisma btw.

So your goal is to make them all level at the exact same rate?
1) That is a weird goal. It's completely fine if your Rangers level at different rates.
2) OK, if that is your goal, simply distribute "extra" skills evenly between characters. Lockpicking, Demolitions, basically any noncombat skill that gives you little tasks that give minor xp in the game world. They all occur pretty frequently except Alarm Disarm.
3) Make sure your team all has the same Intelligence too, so no one ever gets ahead on skill points.
4) If one Ranger starts getting too far ahead, stop using their skills. Stop picking locks, or disarming mines, or whatever. Solve problems in other ways.

You can cover all the non-weapon skills in the game + one weapon skill for each character with a party of five (your rangers + Rose from the Ag Center is the easiest way to achieve this). Each character in your party should specialize in a number of skills equal to the number of skill points he receives per level up. By "specialize" I mean a skill that you will regularly improve and eventually maximize over the course of the game.

Skill points are your most precious strategic resource, which means taking the Delayed Gratification quirk is a no-brainer - it will pay for itself in spades. Take perks such as Intimidating, Affable and Know-it-All as soon as possible - they're equivalent to free level ups. Gather and equip skill-increasing trinkets, and find skill point-granting shrines. Don't use skill books, though - those are best saved until the end of the game to take your skills from 9 to 10.

So if you build, say, three characters with 4 Int (3 skill points per level, 4 after Delayed Gratification) and one with 10 Int (5 skill points per level, 6 after Delayed Gratification), you end up with a party that can eventually specialize in 18 skills, 14 of them non-weapon skills.

There are 19 skills here. I would say the least necessary ones are Field Medic, Weaponsmithing, Barter, Leadership and either Outdoorsman or Animal Whisperer (in that they're not used in skill checks or necessary to unlock content). But it's better to plan your party around an additional NPC companion so you can have it all without needing high Int on all four of your Rangers. Remember that you have Angela Deth for the first third of the game - she's useful for filling in missing skills before you hit level 10 and start getting the extra skill point per level from Delayed Gratification.

Thats the gist. For this run all 4 rangers will have disparanumerophobia, int 10 and charisma 9 (10 on even levels).
Im looking for division of non combat skills in a balanced fashion so that no ranger gets ahead of the leveling (for example, i will not put safecracking and lockpicking on the same character).

Anyone done this before? Any tips? My OCD prevents me from not opening containers (for example, if i can brute force it, thats ok, but i gotta open everything xD))

IIRC you can save-scum containers. There are plenty of party guides out there, just Google what you're looking for. Just like in the original Wasteland, it's good to have specialists, so distribute your skills accordingly. This includes weapon skills. I think I had one sniper, two AR, and one energy build on my playthrough.
