No sorcerer?

Depend on the game. Although mostly I try to play a skill-heavy talker class, so that's generally either rogue or wizard.

If there's no advantage in exploit skills, maybe Paladin. The most survivable class for an MC to hold.

The poll is missing sorcerer, so I voted wizard. These are the most fun to stack in ToEE. Honorable mentions to druid and cleric.

Cleric, or Specialist Priest, or Cloistered Cleric, depending, and variations thereof.

Not even sure why. I think it's the whole religious spiel that gives a lot of options in traditionally polytheistic settings.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Ranger. Then I went over to Warlock for NWN2. Then back to Ranger again, because Warlock seemed to be so useless that nobody has touched it since. There seems to be a similiar class in P:K but I haven't gone into it yet.
So I seem to have an affinity for lost causes. Although in the day or so that I played POE as a Ranger, I think Sawyer managed to bring the class down to new depths of total despair. And it was too much, even for me. :negative:

Traditional D&D classes are: fighter, mage, cleric, thief, elf, dwarf and halfling. Not this monk bard shit :obviously:

Anyways, rangers are good when dualclassed to mages after level 15 or so.

In a table game they could be very useful in non combat,in combat they are decent archers or backstabbing bastards.

Archer-type Bard, if available. (But maybe that's because I'm a musician irl :) )

Failing that, an Arcane Archer type of deal, if available, or maybe a Ranger if also good at a bit of magic.

Failing that, anything fiddly and pre-buffy. Why press one button to do a thing when you can press 5, I always say.

Rogue
&
Anti-Paladin ( enjoyed playing that half elf anti-paladin so much, I think he's stuck in one of the temple of elemental evil's nodes since 1988...)

Mostly Rogue, because of the flexibility (archer, dual wielder, backstabber, trapper, stealth etc)

In theory, I would like to enjoy being a cc/buffer wizard, the in-game brains of the party, the playmaker of the team so to speak. However, I haven't been able to enjoy this concept in practice. Maybe it is because vancian casting is very limiting in how often you can use spells, and in non-vancian it is usually not as efficient as nuking everything.
