YT recommended me this old channel that I used to watch decade ago or more, to find some info and reviews (the one with eyes burning squirell as a logo), all in less than 10min mark.

aaaand it's dead
goddamit
he was doing podcast but I'm not a fan of those, wouldn't be surprised if that was also past project

I really enjoy Shamus Young's video essays (This Dumb Industry), although they are not very frequent.

Fun fact: MrBTongue sometimes writes on his website (shamusyoung.com). Recently about Baldur's Gate.

This guy specializes in Japanese "auteurs" and some more obscure stuff. His Blue Stinger video and others are pretty entertaining. He has a sort of contagious energy that isn't forced or cloying like most fulltime youtubers.

This guy randomly came up on my YouTube feed. Dude knows his adventure games. Has solid reviews, but they're far too short for me. I love those long reviews people do, and 15-20 minute reviews just don't do it for me.

Grimbeard is good, I found his channel myself last week. He does whine a bit too much in some videos and his jokes go on a little too long/try too hard in places. Like the "heh I'm secretly a serial killer/satanist" schtick is old hat these days. Also he got noticably asshurt about suicide jokes in the Noctropolis review, which he should've cut out of the vid in editing since it clearly hit too close to home for him.

Otherwise fine reviewers seem to feel the need to put these moral disclaimers in their videos. I binge watched Civvie and he just went on an extended tirade about how 'gross' that bit with the weird female hive place in DNF was in regards to women. When Wolfenstein comes up he has to clarify how much he likes killing Nazis. Like, do you have something to prove here? Are you covering bases?

Reminds me of some history channels where they make these same disclaimers. What, ancient Rome doesn't care for your 21st century sensibilities? Stop being a whiny faggot and bringing down the otherwise good quality of your content.

Nobody fears and resents w*men as much as I do, but virtually everyone who played DNF agrees the Alien Hive scene was fucking creepy and tonally out of place compared to any other Duke Nukem game. You've got caverns full of innocent young girls who've been raped by aliens, hanging from the ceiling weeping and crying for "daddy", knowing that they're about to be violently killed as bugs explode from their swollen bellies. I mean that scene belongs in something like Agony or Lust for Darkness. Or sfm porn without the guro. And then someone thought "haha, this would be a good place for some juvenile edgy humour".

As for the Antifastein thing I haven't watched his review but I'm pretty sure civvie has mentioned being a leftist in one of his videos or on twatter. I don't recall him sperging about social justice politics or whining about attractive women being problematic in his other vids, so meh. I'm assuming he's a bernout like most people who stay at home playing videogames all day, so there's no need to punish him any further. His life is already a living hell.

He comes across the type who can be pretty funny half the time and then impotently angry the other half. Grimbeard is pretty similar.

Compared to say, Mandalore, who may be my favorite reviewer that isn't just a straight up meme machine like Sseth.

Think he falls into the same category though. Since he got popular he deleted most of his edgy early videos. Jokes are noticeable tamer now.
