felipepepe Apologies if this has been asked before, skimmed whole thread and didn't see it; how are we to interpret the whole "non-rpg" requirement? I didn't include Freedom Force in my list of 1 pointers because I reflexively just disqualified it as an rtwp tactical rpg, but it doesn't actually show up on the Codex top 101 rpg list? Should I edit my post to include it, even though it's almost certainly more of an RPG than something like Star Control II (great game though it is)? I'm not trying to start an endless shoutbox about "what is an rpg?", just trying to get some classification.

I think the options left out are mostly common sense. Freedom Force is definitely an RPG. It's sold as an RPG, Wikipedia calls it an RPG, the devs call it an RPG, it's on the RPG Codex and RPG Watch curator list... I mean, it's basically Icewind Dale with Super Heroes.

Well in that case I have to say it's utter bullshit that neither Freedom Force is on the Codex's top 101 list (but thanks for the clarification)!

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. - The gameplay is so solid, on multiple occasions I have immediately started a new game after finishing a playthrough. It's only one of two games game I can think of where I've done that that wasn't just a few hours long.
Dark Messiah: Might and Magic - The other game I've done it in. There's just something engaging about fun melee combat and using physics to throw enemies off ledges.
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl
Mount and Blade: Warband
Saints Row 2 - Even though the PC port is held together with duct tape and hope, the game still manages to be fun and capture what a GTA clone should be. A fun world where everything is visually distinct enough you can tell your location without pulling up the map, good humor, fun combat and (for the most part) great side missions. Eagerly awaiting the fixed version with mod support.

3 points:
Jedi Outcast - Outcast is below Academy because Outcast has too many obtuse mazes and gimmicks in levels that detract from the action and less flexibility in force power choice. Move it to five points if Dark Messiah is too RPG for people.
Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight with Mysteries of the Sith
STALKER: Call of Pripyat - Move to five points if M&B is too RPG.

Only five games for 5 & 3 points each allowed, fellow Colonization fan. King of Dragon Pass is number 53 on the Codex 101 RPG list, so it doesn't count here.

We counted both Sengoku Rance and King of Dragon Pass as rpgs in our top 101 for whatever dumb reason poll so they are both ineligible.

Can vote for Kichikuou Rance or Rance X if you like
