No, Josh, there aren't going to be any other classes besides Blood Mages or Priests because you made them the only ones who can ignore the mechanics of the game you created.

Blood Mages, Tactician Fighters and Forbidden Fist Monks (most of the mechanics-neutering classes used for Ultimate) were added in the game later with content patch and I could bet that only reason they exist in the current form is because Josh already left Deadfire team at that time, to contemplate his failure in peace.

I am also sure that he looks at this "Hall of Honor" plaque and, deep inside, curses stupid interns who added broken shit into his perfectly balanced game...

As opposed to Chanters having group Brilliant invocation on release?

And what's wrong with Forbidden Fist Monks (other then their special attack not even using fists/weapons)?

Priests having a Brilliant inspiration source was there from the start (afaik?). Blood Mages are basically the same thing. It's not the way they do it, the renewal of spell slots during battle is what the problem is. Or maybe the problem is the poorly thought-out Ultimate challenge. Probably both. I had the same gripe with Chanters and Ciphers in PoE1, it's that they ignore the system's mechanics which all other classes are subject to. I'm not entirely sure why Josh doesn't see this as a problem, it's a big issue to be autistically anal about.

Priests have Brilliant inspiration? That's news to me.

AFAIK, their schtick is the ability to prolong effects (such as can't die... or Brilliant). To get Brilliant, they need external help, though. Or maybe get to trigger some new item from the DLC.

My bad, I thought they had a brilliant inspiration and that's why they were used. I forgot they used Priest for Withdraw. It's still a thing that lets you ignore the escort part of the challenge.

There is cloak from DLC (or added in some patch iirc) that has 1% to trigger Brilliant from incoming damage. So Ultimate autists trigger it with some kind of persistent AoE spell (like Wall of Fire) and prolong buff it into infinity with priest's Salvation of Time spell. They also mix in Barring the Death Door spell that makes character unkillable.

There's also the Coil belt from SSS which, as I understand, can trigger all Tier 3 Invocations semi-reliably using Empowered Storm of Holy Fire (as each projectile counts as trigger).
Then again, a Chanter also has Invocations that trigger the Coil and with Sasha's Scimitar he can recover spent Empower points.

A Paladin's Inspired Beacon is also such a lovely damage amplifier

Can’t recall specifics anymore - I believe both priests and chanters had access to brilliant near release, but they later got the nerf bat.

I don't think so.
Chanters used to have it, but no more (although with the right equipment - Least Unstable Coil belt, probably also Sasha's Singing Scimitar to refund these Empower points, they can trigger it with Empowered multi-hit offensive Invocations)

Ciphers still do (only for other allies, though, can't use on self).

Oh and Tacticians can trigger Brilliant also.

Wasn't Knaak that hack who inserted himself in the Warcraft lore in order to be badass and sleep with elven women? How is he "acclaimed"?

Knaak actually self-inserted into Warcraft canon so hard that Blizzard dropped mana-bomb on his character (flame-bearded archmage Rhonin) in major in-game event to get rid of him. No chance of resurrection.

It seems that all that stick around an keep playing PoE 2, do it for the combat.
Or are there other reasons ?
Does anyone like the factions ? At first i thought they were interesting but
now when i think of replaying it with all the dlcs, i come to the conclusion that
i don't like a single faction and how you have to interact with them. On a first
glance they appear to be written in a more realistic way but on an afterthought
they are actually quite one-dimensional and make some extremely retarded decisions.

Also class-leading itemization. Quite good character development.
Awesome class/ability/equipment synergies/interplays/combos.
Great central hub, varied, rewarding exploration.

The factions are kinda cool also. Decent variety, quite colorful and distinct.
Not entirely sold on all of them converging towards same goals and most of the faction end quests being "blow up/murder our rival", though. Think there could have been a little more creativity with faction end-game aspect.

I wish the NPCs were not so unlikable in this game. I want to try out the TB mode but I already won the game with a custom party on PoTD so I don't really want to do that again in TB mode.

Turn based in this game is not implemented very well. The action economy is completely fucked and it makes melee characters shit-tier compared to casters. They could have at least listened to some of the suggestions to remove rounds entirely and have characters take turns purely with initiative so characters who invest more in dex can perform more actions than someone who dumped it. It would at least been a more logical translation of the rtwp systems than what they have currently.
