The sci-fi reveal is where everything takes a turn for the worse and just keeps dragging itself down until the end. And this happens at floor 5, so it has a loooooong time to disfigure itself properly.

This game is definitively worth 7 bucks. If you like RtwP you will like this, it's actually a finely tuned, calculated experience - if you play on the hardest difficulty levels, every little upgrade counts. Didn't play it enough to see if this holds up, or gets repetitive, but you can easily get 10h of good gameplay out of this.

At first I thought it party without druid (guy with totems and healing) won't survive, but then I read steam forum lol.
They even find use for useless dwarf with his runes lol.

The dwarf is sturdy (he can full-heal himself on a very short cooldown) and can deal impressive quantities of damage. The runes skill hits very hard and you can amass them on the battlefield between waves.

Healing isn't as importat as dealing damage, and at the time he comes into party its more beneficial to take someone else.
Initial warrior is sturdy, and have walls, archer deal damage and a lot of it, druid heal and do summoning to distract&meatshield.
Then vimpire, or who was she, with destruction magic, she is like very useful.
Last one - that girl from errr.... room, with electrocannon and such - has as I remember insane control. Did't played with her in party, then hdd fried, lost saves.
So, no country for short men.

Does it have puzzles?

I vagurly remember that yes, but those are not hard I think.

I did like they way they did the character level-ups where you had to train and purchase using your in-game resources. However, I did not have as much fun as I was hoping. Hoping their next game (Dark Envoy) is better.

I've been playing this from time to time for an hour or two for the last three years or so. The combat started to get kind of easy or even trivial some time ago, but each time I come back to the game, I get surprised anew that this game didn't cheap out on the amount of riddles, secrets, and lore. Not overcomplex, not underpar. That and the relaxed atmosphere of gameplay always bring me back for a while. A little advice for anyone who wants to try it: don't turn up the brightness much. "Leave the corners dark". I believe this is the way it's meant to be played, so you can really discover things, paths, and secrets by paying attention.
