hi Crispy the reward for finding her a new conduit is worth more in Deadfire than some experience and treasure since you will lose it at the start of Deadfire but helping her will get you a friend in the next part of the story that is unique.
That's the definition of cheese. Having to compensate for an encounter with items derived from meta-data. If you had had the foresight to make a bunch of them before, fine. But who does?
After two tries on Hard then Normal I Googled it and everyone says the same thing: cheese it or just go Story Time difficulty if you just want to get past it. I feel so dirty...
