Basically means they've saved $20,000 which will go on development. I remember they were saying in a interview that they came to the point that all further progress (and whether the project even survived) depends on funds.

Looks like good news, let's hope Intoxicate don't fuck it up.

Not really. From the Unigine Engine home page:

I hope they will find one.. Anyway, it's great of Unigine developers to do that kind of thing, I think.

Yeah I read that yesterday actually.

Less graffix, more focus on RPGs, please. I know you are serious about making an RPG, just your language is a big turn off to people like us. I don't give a fuck about polygons or vertex shaders.

Obvious. For official game info/announcement sheets I suggest you improve your presentation. Avoid cliches and empty phrases. Look how long much you wrote on graphics and the very rushed paragraph at the end on gameplay. Bad signal.

Just some presentation tips, no offence I hope.

    Good luck

    Thanks :)
About gameplay you can read on our site. It's all prototyped.
Now we are making techdemos (first with physx) we ned new technology for publishers Man :( but if we will find some, our main priority is gameplay, dont worry

It looks very well until now.
I like that you are focusing on gameplay mostly [if it's true], but also lay your hands on some good graphics technology. Graphics never hurt, and if they improve the sales, we will be more likely to see a sequel.
As long as you keep your focus on story and gameplay, I don't care about what you do with the graphics. There is nothing wrong at all with some great eye-candy, the problem only occurs when the developers put them above gameplay and in the end, gameplay sucks.

I'm really looking forward to this game.

I recommend reading FAQ. There are many interesting informations about the game (most of them are about gameplay) .

Sounds pretty much like the combat system I suggested in the "injury systems a.k.a. hitpoints" thread... I hope they'll implement it in some good way. It sounds very promising, and a welcome break from hitpoints!

The word "simplicity" used in conjunction with "turn-based combat" is a pretty significant turn-off, for me. That said, it's hard to say what is part of the design and what is just translation problems.

Age is no excuse! Eh, well, sometimes it is. I was three when leavin Poland so well, in my case...

    Anyway - sounds fucking nice:
    8. A lot of games irritated me because of the stupid/weird reactions of NPCs towards my character. Reactions like NPC?s talking with me after I just slaughtered their entire family. Or situations when NPCs in Location X treat me like shit because I’ve done something evil
somewhere in the far end of the wastelands. Can I count on Afterfall to eliminate such crap?

Yes you can. In Afterfall, opinions about your character and the way NPCs will treat him will be measured in two fields. The first one will be based on affiliations to social groups. Every social group/class has some stereotypes about other social groups. These stereotypes will be used to determine whether NPCs will welcome your character with open arms or with pitchforks. Let’s suppose that your character is affiliated to a militant social group (example: a member of a bounty hunters guild) and will try to speak with a NPC. If the NPC’s social group is non-militant or pacifist then the NPC will probably not want to talk with you and will try to ignore you. However, when you speak to a guard, some mercenary or other militant NPC, you will certainly have their attention and they might even respect you more than they would if you were a non-militant character. The PC and every NPC can (and will) be affiliated to many social groups (example: gun store owner – militant and commerce/trade-person). In cases like these an average opinion will be calculated from all affiliations.

The second field are the NPC’s individual opinions about your character. Opinions of the NPC’s family or friends will be counted as well so don’t expect Tom’s family or close fiends to like you after you’ve done something bad to Tom. But on the other hand, if little Johnny really hates his mom then it’s possible that he’ll buy you a beer after you raped and murdered her. As you can see, thanks to this solution situations like the ones you described are not likely to happen in Afterfall.

Afterfall stands right next to The Age of Decadence as one of my most anticipated RPGs of the next while.

I hope these guys can get it right.

If you only could realize how even wildest fanbase propositions for Afterfall systems are considered to be done by development team, you would see it in a even better light. Fuck i'm all hyped bout Afterfall. Great amount of details are consulted with community. It's almost as VD's AoD.

Everything looks and sounds exciting to me, but I'm dazzled about the funding part.

I'd be interested in hearing all of the expenses other than domain, server fees and taxes. It couldn't be just these, right?

If a publisher does pick you up , are you confident you will actually maintain all the design features you wanted to implement? And how will you explain to them why you are not making a Diablo clone with a simple system and rated for 10 year olds?

Btw, can any of you access the Afterfall website?
I can't but I don't know if it is the fault of my connection or browser or maybe some problem with the website...
