Ahahahaha what a bunch of soytards
>make faction with AoE weapons
>be too soy to cope with the idea of friendly fire so you give them ''smart weapons'' too
>the same devs refer to using fast scouts to flag income structures in earlier installments in the series as 'griefing'
Imma go play AoE2 with the classic pike onager combo now

Age of Wonders: Planetfall Launching August 6, Pre-Orders Available Now

STOCKHOLM - Feb. 19, 2019 - Paradox Interactive today announced new details for Age of Wonders: Planetfall. The upcoming sci-fi strategy game and series successor from Triumph Studios, Planetfall is coming to PC and consoles (Playstation®4 and Xbox One) on August 6, 2019 for $49.99 MSRP. The Deluxe Edition will run $59.99 MSRP, and the Premium Edition will be available for $89.99 MSRP. Pre-orders are available now, with a stately slate of early-bird bonuses and special offers, including custom cosmetic packs and an exclusive scenario planet full of aliens.

Pre-Order Bonus (for all editions):
  • Paragon Noble Cosmetic Pack - Bring fashion and flare to the final frontier!
Deluxe Edition Content:
  • Bravado Bundle Cosmetic Pack - Nothing says “We’re here to rebuild society in our image” like a really boss bandana.
  • Spacerpunk Cosmetic Pack - Your style won’t conform to the rules of a fallen galactic society!
  • Infested Worlds Scenario Planet - Survive in a world overtaken by alien flora and fauna dominated by Kir’ko factions!
Premium Edition Content:
  • Age of Wonders Planetfall: Premium Edition includes both the Deluxe Edition Content and the Season Pass, which gives players access to three upcoming expansions and a platform-specific instant reward.
In Age of Wonders: Planetfall, players will explore the remnants of the Star Union, once a vast empire connecting thousands of worlds, but its people have been left isolated and stranded following the Collapse. Hundreds of years later, separation has turned siblings into divergent factions, out to rebuild the world as they see fit.

A new story trailer available today tracks the Vanguard faction as they return to their old empire for the first time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6X27sPdTcs&feature=youtu.be

“It’s official – the countdown clock is ticking! We can’t wait to deliver this experience to fans, and are hard at work prepping Age of Wonders: Planetfall for primetime,” said Lennart Sas, CEO of Triumph Studios. “It’s a massive project, but I’m confident in our team, and know that players are going to love this game.”

Emerge from the cosmic dark age of a fallen galactic empire to build a new future. Build an empire with one of six unique factions, ranging from the militant Vanguard to the dinosaur-riding Amazons and the cyborg-zombies of the Assembly. Progress through each faction’s missions using wits, military strength and diplomacy, exploring planetary ruins and encountering other survivors as the history of a shattered civilization unravels. Fight, build, negotiate and technologically advance a path to utopia in a deep single player campaign, on random skirmish maps, and against friends in multiplayer.

Their last game was meh, they only used the age wonders name and didn't deliver one. Would recommend replaying the first two over buying this.

I see how it is, they made all the aesthetics hideous so people would consider buying costume packs.

I want to believe.

But paradox and game being developed for consoles from day one make me :negative:

Also lol, just looked at the pricing. Fuck off with your potato 3d production values.

And this "pre-pay gazillion potato to get three expansions" is such a scammy bs when they don't tell you what the expansions are. Just look at what happened with the ultimate edition of civ vi. Paradox snowjews at work, I guess.

At least the music seems pretty ace.

They pissed off quite a few people by offering a gimped version of AoW 3 @ GOG.
Admittedly STEAM's cross platform support is years ahead but it was still a shifty move to not offer a cross-platform release (or a goodwill STEAM key)

I thought that AoW 3 was decent.
The battles were certainly an improvement over the randomness.
There's still several things that I prefer in AoW 1 though.

Wait for the inevitable complete edition - if you even bother at all.
Standard and Deluxe aren't enough now days it seems - need a Premium edition too.
I still don't see this series as putting a dent in the popularity of Civilization.

What do you mean gimped down? You get version that's not locked to your steam account, and when you play in your friend house you don't need to log in into your steam account.

If you use Windows.

Anyone who bought the game DRM-free, possibly at a premium from GOG doesnt receive the OSX or Linux version.
It's shoddy treatment by Triumph. Do you then buy it again?
People who bought the Steam release even had a chance to redeem a free copy recently via GOG Connect!

There isn't anything wrong with the GOG version apart from getting less for your money.
Plus it's happening with more and more releases.
Yes, in the ideal world we'd have access to all versions of any game drm free.
