Looks a little like Larry 7.

I dunno, I'm pretty sure I'm the target audience for this game and I don't give a rat's ass.

Well, it seems to be basically a remake of LSL1 in LSL7 style with new puzzles and some new content.
Im glad they didn't go 3D.

And, surprise... Paul Trowe is being somewhat of a douche again in the comments xD

Hey dude, we think it's awesome that you're showing a preview of the LSL1 Alpha, but please remove any revenue generating mechanisms (e.g. the ad before the video) since you'd be making money off of our, very laborious, work. Thanks dude!! p.s. all of us at the office love it!

I understand where he's coming from from a legal perspective, but if you're trying to paint yourself as 'the little guy', on the fans' side, and trying to revive the classics, it's probably best not to go around doing shit that EA would do.

They've announced they're starting work on LSL2 Reloaded.
http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming...suit-larry-reloaded-and-leisure-suit-larry-8/

The feature-complete beta of LSL Reloaded is out to backers now.
Forgetting all of the Paul Trowe madness and the "not another remake" thing, it's actually amazingly well done. Ridiculous number of item descriptions, fair amount of reworking and new gameplay content, decent attempts at balancing the cartoon vs. realistic art (for the girls), above average writing from Josh Mandel (and maybe Al? It seems like he's secretly retired again), and the interface is all just updated Sierra, pretty true to it's roots all-around. It's still a Leisure Suit Larry game, but it looks like Replay made it through Kickstarter without screwing up. Pleasantly surprised.

Wish they'd pump some more dough into the box cover, starting to regret wasting my potatoes :? /snip
I think that's just one of the entries they received for the box-cover art contest. The one they chose is this one:

Though they made the wrong choice, as this one was also an option:

You know, I get that this is just LSL7's design made a little more "cute", but I do wonder why they decided to go this way. LSL6's Larry was a well detailed cartoon, but managed to look like a lecherous loser so well...

Yeah, but that contest was for art used only by online retailers (who cares about that anyway?). Was held after some people complained about the quality of the original cover (the one in my post, or more specifically this render of the 'collectors box'). Best thing is the one they chose was apparently by the same guy that made the original. Not sure which one is worse.

The Collectors Boxes backers are getting I guess had already been done, so no changes could've been made, even if they wanted to. That's probably the last time I'm pledging anything substantial without any prior indication of the packaging art/style... [/firstworldproblems]

Where did you get that from?

His role just seems more advisory and press (but who knows), Josh seemed to be in the trenches writing ten thousand LSL item descriptions. It's not a bad thing, either way.

Didn't pledge for the box, but I'm glad they improved a bit from the ultra-word-art logo in the first box.

That's great news. Al Lowe has always been kind of a loser anyway. Josh Mandel is far more talented, as evidenced by Freddy Pharkas Frontier Pharmacist (among other titles).

Anybody who followed adventure games in the 90s knows that Al Lowe was a small small part of why FPFP was a good game.

http://www.adventuregamers.com/articles/view/24150/page4

Josh Mandel’s hilarious book of home remedies was wonderful. Josh produced that game and did a lot of the writing, so if you like Freddy Pharkas, Josh deserves a big part of the credit for it. He’s one funny guy, and I’m so happy to be working with him again on Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded.

The perspective of LSL2 reloaded is much much more interesting than this game that looks much worse than the original VGA remake.

Apparently Larry is releasing tonight: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/leisuresuitlarry/make-leisure-suit-larry-come-again/posts/521882

Hi, Larryettes!

Yes, it’s the one you’ve been waiting for.

We’re releasing Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded to the public at 11:59pm PDT TONIGHT!
FIRST THINGS FIRST
Tonight we’re releasing versions for PC, Mac, and Linux, via both Steam and the Replay website.

We expect Apple to make the iOS version available tonight as well, but the timing is up to them.

The Android version will be along soon.

Despite all of us pulling for him as hard as we could, not even Larry could achieve that big a “simultaneous release.”

And because this reminded me of the discussion from Page 2 of this thread, I've found this.
There is a comparison between every classic version of Monkey Island that has ever existed: http://www.gratisjuegos.org/descargar/monkey-island-series-1-2-y-3-todas-las-versiones-e-idiomas/

Cool, the first of the "big-time" Kickstarter games to be released. Feedback from the Beta has been mostly positive, so I'm looking forward to this. Hopefully it does well and eventually results in original games.
