...may god have mercy on us

Buffing mechanics as something new and worrisome? I'm not sure I get it. As for 'a pile', any buffing mechanic is broken if repeat usage stacks. I'd be surprised if they stack.

I can, however, see why magazines are a somewhat silly way of implementing buffs. The motivation is obvious - they were in FO2 with the same function, but many people would have missed that, as so long as you read them every now and then you'd keep the bonus. I.e. the buff would last about an in-game month, and then you'd have to read another one, you know...like a magazine. But I don't think the concept translates as well to a FP game because FP makes highly abstracted mechanics stand out that much more. The use of books full stop is jarring in FP, where I never had a problem with it in the zoomed out, obviously time-abstracted, world of FO1-2.

To be fair, a team of retarded cats could create a better RPG experience than Bethseda.

wait. who are you being fair to? retards? cats?

Yeah, I have to disagree with this call. I own two cats, both were 'rescued'/abandoned kittens. One of them is smart as hell, the other was deprived of food/contact just a bit too long as a baby and is...well...comparatively retarded.

I'd only back the smarter one to make a better game than Bethesda, and he spends most evenings chasing pieces of string.
