ITT people who aren't cool enough to post in the official General RPG Discussion megathread

New newspost coming soon.
Hey dumbfuck, how the fuck is anyone supposed to find that thread if it's hidden in a subforum? I had no idea it existed. If it's not under General RPG but hidden in one of those stupid company subforums me and 90% of other oldfags aren't going to find it because we don't climb into company subforums.

This is not supposed to happen. General RPG Discussion is an index forum, which means every thread in the Larian subforum and all other subforums also appears in the main forum. It's been this way for years, it's a special feature DU had custom-built for the Codex.

They show in the General RPG thread list page, but not in the main page sidebar, which is almost exclusively how I navigate the forums these days.

It's hard for me to remember, but I know I would see all RPG threads in the main page sidebar for a while, and then I'd stop seeing them, and back and forth. I always assumed that was due to Codex's prevarications on how to handle the subforums.

I know that right now, the main page sidebar shows "Larian is making..." and the Stadia thread, but NOT "Baldur's Gate III by Larian Studios" from the subforum. And I know these days I don't get updates from Grimoire thread etc. in the sidebar.

And yes, it's a massive pain in the arse to not have them show up.

Is there a way to flag posts in a thread that contain all the new info on a game, then provide a button somewhere at the top of the thread, click it and it limits the thread to only those posts? That way we don't have to read 100+ page threads that only have 10-20 posts worth reading that provide info about the game.

There is another issue with the index forum feature: threads marked as read in a subforum are listed as unread in the related index forum.
