    In a desperate bid to have news other than about BioShock, you <a href="http://rpgvault.ign.com/articles/883/883349p1.html">may want to look at RPGVault's sneak peek about "City of Abandoned Ships"</a>:
    <br>
    <blockquote>In the game, you can choose to sail the seas under the Jolly Roger. The other alternative is to become an officer in one of the English, Spanish, Dutch or French navies. Whichever you select, you'll build up your character through an advancement system with the appropriate title P.I.R.A.T.E.S; the initials stand for Power, Impression, Reaction, Authority, Talent, Endurance and Success. No matter which career you decide to follow, the story you write will be your own since the team has designed and implemented an open-ended campaign structure that's said to incorporate roughly equal portions of land and maritime adventures...
    <br>
    <br>
    Before starting a quest, it's important to think about every step, prepare for the journey, buy supplies and hire crew as needed. The game is really is a role-playing pirate simulator...
    <br>
    <br>
    Also there are perks, additional skills that become available as the character's level rises. There are personal and naval ones. Some of the latter are useful during battles; they decrease reload time, raise the chances of boarding successfully, etc. Others can help increase ship speed, help survive storms, and make officers learn faster. When the initial phase is over and the player has acquired crew, officers and supplies for his ship, it's time to set sail and find a big adventure. And there are plenty in City of the Lost Ships.</blockquote>
    <br>
    It's a pirate themed RPG, what's not to love? Find out more on <a href="http://en.akella.com/Game.aspx?id=32">the game's official website</a>.

    It will fail. I have yet to see Akella publishing a decent game. It will probably be ridden with bugs, awfully translated and shining with bloom. Prove me wrong.

    Too bad all pirate games have to be about Hollywood's jolly swashbuckling and mystery treasure hunting. How about one about starving, disease, homosexuality, mutinies and all the other elements which actually defined life on pirate ships?

    Anyway:

    I think this is the sequel to Sea Dogs, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Age of Sail. It's called Corsairs III or IV or something in the motherland. In fact, I think it's been out there for a few months.The last two were pretty lackluster so I'm not too sure about this one. Any Russkies played it and want to share their thoughts?

    Aren't they doing the new Disciples game? That game looks really nice.

    The first Sea Dogs was pretty good. Other than that they have made a bunch of crap.

    The trailer at the bottom of that page shows a scene with the PC wearing a dive suit and sword fighting a mudcrab underwater....

    Everybody here seems to love it. I honestly tried to get into it, but couldn't get the hang of fencing at all, losing the tutorial battle several times. Also, it's easy as fuck to get lost while questing in towns - no quest compass or anything. The series has nice sea combat, though.
    Aw, screw it. Pirates! is still better (and has negligeble copy protection instead of Starforce, lol).

    No, that's the official system for Volourn's module.
    Well, games are usually played because they let you be someone you're not, so if you see no reason in in playing a Larpingdude RPG... :)

    Some time ago I made a thread about Seadogs2 aka Pirates of the carribean and the Build13 mod. If the game is even half as interesting as seadogs 2 with the Build mod I'm already sold.

    This would be Sea Dogs 4 then, if they were naming their games with numbers?

    1: Sea Dogs
    2: Pirates of the Caribbean
    3: Age of Pirates
    4: City of Abandoned Ships?

    They should add a ninja faction, then it would be AWESOME.
