I bought this on the weekend, and holy shit it's good. The humor is great and at points pretty silly but not to the same extent as Fallout 2. The world makes a lot of sense - it's more Fallout 1 than 2 in that regard. Protection rackets, trader unions, all kinds of stuff that make sense in a rebuilding-civilization-postapoc setting. The Russian setting is fresh and interesting, the quests offer lots of choices, plenty of XP to be gained by being investigative and using your skills... great fucking game. :salute:

Only thing that annoys me is the super slow walking speed on the world map, so I'm using CheatEngine's speedhack for that.
Thank you dude! I'm really glad you like it. Seriously, whenever someone says he's about to buy the game I'm on pins and needles until he says he llikes it :D That's awesome!
Try getting a car! It's almost as good as the speedhack!

Holy fuck, this game is tasty. I am loving every second of it! Maybe except tutorial.
Thanks man! Really happy to hear that. Yeah, the tut was a necessary evil, maybe one day we'll get back to it :D Real glad you're enjoying it!!!

Abu Antar,
you're a godsend, man! Thanks for posting! As you can see I was late with the codex post again. Huge thanks for spreading the good word!

More locations/stuff to do is good. That's probably my chief complaint with the game is it really lacks in content mid-late game aside from the bunkers.

Not necessarily in terms of gear type/options, but in terms of progression the weapon paths for each type needs some either smoothing out or another plateau in between end game gear and mid game gear. At least in the last version I played it felt like you had to grind on encounters or just be a combat tactics munchkin to get gear capable of the final few battles. Didn't feel like a natural progression.
Hopefully this update will smooth things out a bit. The last fight is still pretty tough, but you have much more stuff to do before going in!

Atomboy No need to invest your time in fixing tutorial for ATOM, focus on your future projects. Maybe for ATOM 2 you could think of something better. Like something mystic, like a trial somewhere, maybe a temple? In a primitive village or sth. And it should not be short, or include any guns or skillchecks. Yeah, that should fit perfectly.

Atomboy RPG system rework when? Right now it looks too much too like Fallout to the point of being a cargo cult of inferior thing. The buffs are too broken, most of the skills are again nonviable, where's the RPG aspect?

TBH I didn't have many problems with the very last fight. The (admittedly optional) fights at the end of each bunker are way tougher IMO. Less opportunity for movement, worse gear going in, not prepared for them because most everything up to that point is cake (biggest reason)

Can i adjust the font and the GUI size of the game ?

Yes, it goes up to UI scale 2.5x

1.25 (what I play at)

2.5x:

Download both and full screen them on your system to see. The UI elements get a little cut off at 2.5. On my monitor you can still see all the important buttons, on a 1080p monitor you might need to use 2x or 2.25x.

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
So, Atomboy, when will you stop adding new stuff?

My first playthrough was cut short in Roaring Forest, when I overwrote some saves while in the caverns, my build being woefully underdeveloped to get through them. Then I started playing it again, and I've had so much fun that when I heard about new thingies being added I decided to wait until everything is in, so that I could appreciate it all with fresh eyes.

A few months had passed and I'm still biding my time. It feels like waiting until stuff stops falling out of cornucopia, eternally salivating.

Well done game, welll done

2coh00z.jpg

he also has some pretty hilarious lines when he gives you his quest. something about how he wants to advance civilisation by creating the most degenerate porn movie possible ("to success!!"). didn't screenshot that unfortunately.

It is much more down to earth than both Fallouts. I never liked those pop references and whatnot.

ATOM has more references than all Fallouts combined, they're just better written so it's not immediately apparent.

Though some are unmissable if you're an RPG fan.
