Don't forget about all those currency items.

PoE might be a bit slower paced in comparison to D3, but it's a loot whoring heavan.

I was about to commit suicide but then I remembered how much better Sacred 2 is than Diablo 3 and went back to playing that. If not for Sacred 2 I would be a dead man!

My big gripe with PoE so far is that the inventory is so damn small.

Bah, that was always the problem with any diablo clone. Actually, one of the challenges of PoE is to learn what's actually worth picking up and keeping.
Still, I have a full stash of crap, hand me downs, spare skillgems, orbs, flasks, items that may be useful to somebody, sometime, do disregard that.

I respect your daily lust for drama and lulz, Sir Angthoron.
Indeed! Those are contenders. I mentioned ME3 in another post.
I think there are developers at blizzard who genuinely want to make a good game and works towards that. Also, making a good game, and strong sales are often correlated, far from always, but often.

    I had to try. :smug:

That said I've meet a few Frenchies who just looooooooove it. But yes, hardly a majority, I know. Then again when people here are asked to cite great Belgian movies, it's invariably crap like C'est arrivé près de chez vous (Man bites dog for the less French inclined) or a snorefest from the Dardenne brothers, like Rosetta. Ugh!

At first PoE was pretty fun but then I started having conflicts with the skill system and how slow it is and then I picked up this crack for the TL2 beta and, though I haven't tried it yet, it's supposed to work online so I'll be dedicating myself to that instead.

The problems with D3 clearly come from a clusterfuck in upper management. By all rights, Diablo 3 should have been a colossal game with insane character customization and the greatest loot the world has ever seen. It should have been bigger and better than any ARPG that had ever been made by far. They had a huge pool of top level talent and an insane production budget. Sadly, they created a game that pales to almost any ARPG ever made. Any other bad game that's been produced has far better excuses than Diablo 3 does. The game simple doesn't have the content to justify one tenth the amount of resources poured into it. It's pretty much impossible what Blizzard pulled off with this stinker and quite possibly the greatest decline in the history of gaming.

Grunker I just like the look, feel and setting of Grim Dawn a lot. It's gritty but not necessarily typical fantasy gritty, has a sort of dark steam punk vibe to it which I think is very cool. I dunno something about PoE just doesn't appeal to me, it's mainly in the setting/graphic design though, just seems uninspired and a bit dull. Also, if I am not mistaken, it is a 100% online game which doesn't remove all the shitty server issues like disconnects and rubber banding which make me rage intensely.

No not really. It's not as easy as DS1 where I can AFK heal bot to train up nature magic.
In DS2, you could die if you take on the high level mobs. Heals have cooldowns and active skill use, something that was missing in DS1.
Overall, DS2 is a major improvement over DS1 and I'm rather enjoying it now.

DS3 is Obsidian's take on it. And I find it uninspired, true, I did finish it and had no desire to replay it. It has skill & talent allocation - and character stats are only modified by talent / gear.
There's only 2 build per char - and they want to encourage player replay to experience different playstyle but I really don't feel it's that much fun TBH. You can't even switch over to your teammate to check how they playstyles work.

DS2 is a much improved DS1 - the devs realized DS1 no loading screen good point can only entertain the player so much - so now, there's talent tree and active skill usage.
    Here's where it gets interesting:
    1. There is no stat allocation but STR gets raised from melee, DEX from ranged weapons, INT from magic. It's possible to make a warrior with nature magic as backup heal - but his INT and Nature skill won't be able to keep up with his Melee skill level. It's pretty decent way to reward specialization and jack of all trades IMO.
    2. Kills give EXP > Level Up grants talent points that grants passive bonuses and abilities to wield new magic / weapons (think dual wield / two hander / shield)
    3. These talent points when achieved certain threshold unlocks a unique skill.
E.g 5 talent points on Critical Strike will unlock a Hard hitting Single Target skill. 2 Talent points on Shield may unlock Armor Up - skill for tanking - and so forth.

I'm liking it so far and made me regret buying the Steam DS trilogy pack less.

Truth be told I found the first two Dungeon Siege games boring as hell, though the second one at least had variety going for it. However the combat was simply boring, and the game is 90% combat, so... yeah. Dungeon Siege III at least had fairly engaging combat, even if it was uninspired, and the story, also uninspired, kept me playing from objective to objective much better. One case where I think making the game more action-oriented really helped make it interesting. I'd never replay it, but that's more than I can say for the other titles - after a few hours it just gets grueling.

Okay bros, so you see I don't like losing. When games face roll me, or I face any kind of challenge really, I get some kind of neurosis inside my brain that says, fuck you I will beat you. Sadly this game played on that part of my psyche very well. I thought fuck this inferno bullshit I'll do it without the fucking AH for as long as I can until I REALLY can't take it anymore.

My stats are probably total trash but I'm actually doing fine. Here's the base stats:

    STR: 220
    DEX: 1340
    INT: 259
    VIT: 589
    ARMOR: 4260
    DPS: 7754.90

So, I retooled my bros build and I'm now rolling with this http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#bgXhTi!XVU!cabacc

Similar but slightly different. Progressing MUCH better. Found a couple of upgrades. I've noticed that Cyclone is a pretty interesting Rune...whenever you critical anything, it can spawn the lightning cyclones. This means if you shoot a deadly reach through 5 mobs and it criticals all of them, there's a chance you get 5 tornados. Quite neat.

Anyway I found a couple of iLevel 63 items. They had pretty shit stats, I got a Hellion xbow that has +218 dex but only 720 DPS...motherfuckers.

What is the deal with MF and identify? Are you supposed to leave all your items unidentified until you switch your gear? Or is it just the amount of MF you have when the item drops. Why do I see so many people with inventories and stashes full of unidentified shit.

They like identify "sessions", the item stats are rolled at drop not when you identify.
Btw, 7ss with teleport is very useful to get out of bad positions, you can target it on ground and teleport there whether you have targets in range or not.

I really like how they included some BioWhorian party banter and voice over in the game that gets interrupted and ruined by enemy mobs half the time.

i was kinda surprised at the tutorial having some kind of narration and voiced lines throughout - after playing DS 1 for 10 hours and wondering why this shit gets a sequel, hearing and playing DS2 felt like a breath of fresh air. Will play on to find out if DS2 is worth it.

DS1 certainly isn't worth finishing. Hit Chapter 4 and can't muster the will to continue.

I thought it was a good game. Better than vanilla Titan Quest IMO. It took me 3 tries to finish TQ and it wasn't because it was difficult. On the other hand after finishing DS2 I played a bit more for a while. Skills were adequately flashy. Attack hits and enemy deaths had a satisfying feel. Itemization was also good, better than Torchlight because you didn't find better items every 5 minutes. Also liked the art direction. Just got a bit easy towards the end. That's how I remember it anyway, might be wrong.

lol just wait till you have those stupid imps who love running around with molten teleport fire chain. They'll kick your arse so hard that you want to slam your mouse into the screen.

BTW, 7k DPS? That's painfully low man.
