no sprint-strafe is an issue. It forces me to look where I run. Trying playing q3 like that... Gameplay > realism.

    EDIT:

@JrK: I know the game is CPU heavy, thats what happens when a game is developed on all 3 platforms and the devs dont give a shit to optimize the game for pc. This way operations that should be performed on GPU get dropped on the CPU.

About the choppers, the next patch will introduce flares which will misdirect traced rockets. Thats good but with the current amount of Carl Gustav engies it might not help a lot :D

    Q3 didn't have a sprint button.

I read that they also run sound completely on the CPU. Total waste of soundcards. Yet another thing that should be hardware programmed.

Definitely. I stopped after the jungle level and went back to Quake 2.

  9. You have to be a bit more careful with tanks in 2142. With the zooming the main gun has tanks in 2142 are more like long range explosive snipers. And they're still the best for tanking out mechs at long range since infantry have a much harder time taking them down.
Also with the recent (Few months I think) BF2 patch the jets aren't QUITE as bad as they used to be. I used to say 2142 was the most balanced of all the Battlefield games, but they fixed 2 up pretty well.

And I kinda wanted to like BF Vietnam Mangoose but by the time I got around to playing it (Years after the fact) it appeared to be hacked to hell and unbalanced as shit. The worst part was everyone went anti-tank since the rockets had huge splash damage, it was about as bad as the constant carl gustavs in BC2.

I ilke BF Vietnam how the old dudes in GRPG like old school dungeon crawlers. I was a young teenager when I played it and all I remember is dying every 5 minutes because there was jungle every fucking where and there was an enemy in every fucking bush i fucking swear I feel like I've been in Vietnam

Multiplayer has some flaws last I played, like noob-tube + ammo box, knife launching attacks etc. But it also had some great spontaneous moments, some of my favourites has to be sniping a helicopter pilot with a shotgun sabot rounds, making it spin out of control and then shooting the people parachuting out of it or killing an engineer repairing his tank using your own repair tool and then jump into the tank and mow down his friends before the they realize that its no longer their tank ;)
