Is there anything comparable to S2 or JA2 that is neither WW2 nor just modern military thing?
WW2 just no longer gets my dick up, even if it's WW2 with powered armours.

Gameplay wise it might be something I could enjoy.

 

The best thing to do is not to feed it, it thrives on attention. It's not a very good troll, though, it just uses inflammatory language it has no business using due to inferior taste and inability to think in context in order to stir up trouble.

 

In terms of isometric + TB, only ToEE can stand alongside those two without being laughed, booed and egged off-stage.

Also, I'm playing Children of a Dead Earth at your recommendation. However, learning curve is p. steep.

 

It actually gets pretty ez once you can build your own stuff, sadly, partly due to stock designs being rather crap, partly because AI is not very bright.

But realistic space combat and engineering game is in itself megaboner inducing.

When I think about it DnD license and Larian are a match made in heaven, since DnD covers many of the fault Larian game have
-Boring locations - not an issue with a licensed setting
-Lackluster monster selection - no comment needed
-Terrible itemization - magical items don't go up to 367 in DnD
-Boring advancement - not an issue with licensed system
The only thing DnD sadly cannot fix is shitty writing. But I really want to see a DnD game with Larian's environmental interactions. This part sucked even in the good adaptations like ToEE.

 

As long as they don't overdo it on the environmental interactions, yeah. Having every battlefield littered with barrels of various types of excrement is not ideal. Itemization is going to be ok as long as they give adequate and unique rewards for quests and exploration, something that is sorely lacking in D:OS1, probably in D:OS2 too. I think everyone agrees the writing is going to be at least cringe. Here's the thing with that, unless they can control themselves for 5 minutes (which I don't think they'll be able to) it's going to be too epic and BG1's sense of adventure is going to be butchered. We are going to be funneled from one set piece to another. Look, a Spelljammer! Now look over here, grand temples! The grand temple is now diamonds a burning fortress of the mindflayers! Quick, escape on the red dragons of the gith! Baldur's Gate, the city, in glorious 3D!!!!! EXPLOSION!!!! DUM dararara DUM dararara DUM tatatatatatata.

 

This thread certainly has been redeemed.
They need to include some of these posts in the game as dialogue choices, like the "rusty halberd" option in BG1.

 

I wouldn't mind seeing a Spelljammer again.

 

We'll definitely be seeing more of those. Calling it now, BG3 is going to end with a huge battle between spelljammers in space.
