High staff count is a certain sign of decline. Also, lol @ 5 studios across Malaysia, Russia, Canada, etc. Expect no coherency in this game.

High staff is a sign of decline? WTF? Being able to higher more folks is a sign of success not decline.

Success and and decline aren't mutually exclusive. You can be successful and still be decline. In fact it's more likely because casuals are the majority and casuals prefer decline. Things like cooldowns, no consequences, easier character building...

Bioware staff count : 800 employers in 2010 (just from google search). Some sites report 500-1000.

First post! To be honest I’m terrified of what this game might turn out to be. I just can’t see Larian capturing the spirit or feel of the originals. This is besides the fact that one can’t even be sure the game will even be isometric. Who knows what kinds of horrible rape will be done to the corpse of yet another beloved franchise from my youth. Can’t be worse than what Disney has done to Star Wars or Bethesda has done to fallout....right?

Big companies need Big sales numbers to pay everyone's salaries, and Big sales numbers require Big target markets, which inevitably means that Big companies start producing dumbed-down popamole to stay in business.

Be nice people! You know Swen lurks around here.

The last thing he needs is going on stage knowing codexers are very skeptical about his Baldur's Gate 3.

Of course BG is in top 5 but number 1 confirms BG3 will be first person. :)

There were skeptical voices on the very first page of this thread, before we knew it was BG3:
Whatever it is, I don't trust Larian to get it right.
So Swen has known for a while the 'Dex is throwing him the evil eye.

Transcrption: “The first of those games coming to market is Baldur's Gate 3. ..Larian will be showing off the game to the public next weekend at PAX East before entering Early Access later this year. But we wanted to share with you an exclusive first look at some very early gameplay footage of what promises to be one of the biggest roleplaying games of the early 2020s.”

Then wait for the full release in 21 unlike Pathfinder and every other indie CRPG they at least have the honesty to tell you that their game is unfinished.
