Getting sub 30 fps on low settings is like me not going parallel on squats. Get it together!

Lol I've been playing sub 30 in games I can't even count with my fingers and toes.

Except Quake 3. Can't do no 45 degree strafe bunny hopping in that without like 100fps.

Besides, not rationalizing anything. I just reported impressions, and I said you might want better than my preferences

FPS doesnt really matter, I had stable 45+ fps before i installed the newest AMD driver and it was still unplayable because of EXTREME stuttering

No stuttering here (anymore). But it very well seems to be varying amongst a bunch of technologies.

I think what I did is turn on LOD for a bunch of textures which helped any stuttering.

Well, I'm playing the game fine and i get 40-60 FPS with everything on max, and 1920x1080, even with Nvidia's gameworks turned on. Occasionally I have drops to 10 FPS but that occurs ONLY in cutscenes and transitions from leaving and entering the batmobile, and very rare. Also, I had no problem with streaming textures like those shown in some screenshots.

As a ports go, taking into account Dark souls people mentioned above, I am having more trouble making DS work the way I want than arkham vanilla (in the end i managed to set thing to my taste). At least arkham knight has the possibility of fully configuring keyboard and mouse, set all resolutions from the get go.

The game is good if you like the previous installments, because here it's more of the same.

That's my personal experience with the game.

About this locked FPS shit, damn, complaining about this is worse than being a graphics whore. It's obvious that human eye can notice the diference between 30, 60 and 120 FPS, but 30 is totally playable in single plkayer games. Go back to you PC exclusives of ninities and rememeber how you love to play then at 5 FPS sometimes?

This game's sin is that it lacks some textures, and is poorly optimized, because it doesn't look it improved the graphics that much since batman arkham city, so it should run very smooth without any glitches on old machines, specially because it uses an old engine. And obviously, it looks worse than it looks on consoles which are outdated machines.

In the end, even with the lack of textures, the game still looks good.

My other complaint is the city/level design: AA used the asylum witch took place in a small iland so the layout of the maps was ok. AC/AO took place in a section of the city that was walled to be like a prison distrct, so it worked ok. You could see gothan was a metropolis on the other side of the sea/river in the horizon/skybox.

AK uses the same area as the previous three games with some improvements, while you see gotham city as a skybox yet again. The game feel like as a dark theme park playground that has no city-like features, in this day where we can have virtual chigcagos, los santos, and old cities of venice/jerusalém and paris. But in the end, I can rationalize that it's fitting for a comic book setting anyway.

Well there's a lot of variation between configurations. I went through the ini files and there was a bunch of stuff even in there that wasn't optimized.

One big thing is there is no way to turn off Tessellation. Tessellation from my experience killed Arkham City for me, and turning it off was the only way to play it. I was unable to force D310.

The other thing (besides the outsourcing) is that I have a feeling the 970 was developed concurrently with Arkham Knight, and that caused conflict as both didn't know sufficiently what each other were doing.

The texture thing isn't so much a lack of but rather a realllly slow change in mipmaps. After a while the textures go back to "normal." I have no idea why. I went through and changed the "MipFade..." options to 0.0 (and also FudgeFactor stuff) to no avail.

That being said, I changed a bunch of LOD stuff and it really helped. I don't need max textures from miles away.

In conclusion it's a bad port but it's definitely playable without issues that affect gameplay, at least for me and a few other codexers. I can easily fight in the outdoor environment, which means indoors is going to be a piece of cake.

Edit: Again I have a midrange 2-3 year old computer (650Ti Boost, FX6300 lol) so take note of that.

Also for me I got 1699MB max VRAM (my card is 2048), and uh... I don't remember physical RAM but I believe it was over 3GB but not above 4GB.

Just giving info, not shilling you faggots.

I guess it doesn't matter really. Nothing wrong with waiting for a sale or waiting for the patch. I'm just personally lazy and don't want to deal with it lul.

Okay found two "fixes" that may help.

Both are in the file "BMSystemSettings.ini" in the folder *\SteamApps\common\Batman Arkham Knight\BMGame\Config

    1) Set "MaxAnisotropy=4". This is really stupid because 16x Anisotropic Filtering never makes any performance hit in any game. But it seems 8x or more does. So keep it to 4x.
    2) Set "bForceCPUAccessToGPUSkinVerts=True". I figured this out because my CPU usage was at like 25% in game while GPU at max. After this both are being used, and I stopped getting the stuttering during the PC Benchmark. Maybe gained 3-5 FPS?

Just in general actually: Might also recommend doing some research and rolling back to an earlier, stable driver. For example Nvidia totally fucked over Kepler users (600-700 series I think?) by destroying their stability in drivers post 344 or something.

Because they want you to buy new cards

That's really good news. Looks like they've addressed most of the things players have complained about.

Now they just have to deliver on what they promise as well. Can't wait for dem patches to fix the fookin' game.

This could very well turn out to be the Best Patch Ever. Prerequisite: Release the worst game release ever. :D

It's all a scheme by Warner Brothers to get the "Best Patch Ever" Award from Illuminati, mark my words.

Sounds like they are doing a complete rework of the port from the ground up.

Huh. So Rocksteady is taking over the PC port then? That's good news for us, but sucks for them.

Bro, come on, bro. I'm no graphics snob but 20 fps on medium/low settings is pretty horrible. 30 FPS looks bad enough with most modern games. 20 has got to be awful.

I used to raid on wow with 15 FPS, you manage

That said I don't know why you'd endure this instead of just waiting for it to be patched. Game isn't even as good as AC from what people say
