Never had in 200 hours any unique shields. Question is - if they are hacked to pieces can I repair them? Or they are lost forever?
They're gone. (Unless the DLC changed that, but I didn't hear anything about it.)

You can make really good shields at the taxidermist now though, so unique ones aren't as valuable anymore.

Yep, they're gone. Just lost one to a hedge knight. In contrast, I've been swimming in them and unique greatswords in this run. Also re: shops - thats what you hoard your hard earned shekels for, to buy uniques in shops when they appear. What's else there to spend it on?

Seriously bros how DO you fight Hexen?

I'm treating it as a puzzle and I just can't solve it. It seems like I'd need insane Resolve to be able to resist those Charms, and if I can't resist them, no dice. If I equip the gang with cudgels and shields so they won't beat each other to death, her bodyguards will wreck them while she keeps two of my twelve charmed. OTOH if I equip them with effective weapons so they can take on the guards, she'll charm the best strikes who will proceed to rip them to shreds.

Either I'm missing something or witchhunting requires a specialised party. What are your tactics/strategies to beating them? This game is turning me into a misogynist and we wouldn't want that.

Tanks with shields and sticks and archers(not xbows).
Tanks to tank with stun ability and archers to kill anything that moves. Bring extra arrows if needed.
Trick is archer will not shoot or move if he is mind controlled and loyal bro is still near him. And you can survive if they whack themselves with sticks.
Bring poison or archers if necessary. Also dogs.

the time it takes to get 5-7 should be halved
No.
They should boost exp potion and veteran hall for faster training of replacements.
Thank god they did what they did. I have actually having fun.
They could rearrange few perks tho
. I would give some honest and accurate feedback but I am probably balcklisted or shadowbaned so its not really worth the shoot.(they will probably do the opposite regardless so its even worse).

Game that turned me misogynist when I played league of legends few years back. Eventually end up calling all the females in that game that gun bitch, that tiger bitch, that blue bitch. Hexen in groups are late game you gonna need everyone with highest survivability reachable in the game and archers. Spread everyone apart if going in with normal weapons. AI tends charms whoever has the strongest weapon. So you could go in with everyone with clubs with standard bro and archers in back line working their way to hexen.

Speaking about survivability its stupid. Heavy armor guys need 300+ armor and fully repaired or they squishy. Light armor guys need to have high hp and high resolve cause of the resolve check when hurt. On top of that you still want good fatigue and initiative, way too many stats. Managing the heavy armor bros is more annoying. half damaged 300 armor and they less viable then some level 7 guy with 100 hp that just took the light armor perk.

Tbh, I avoid anything with more than one Hexe. Even with all Bros at 55-60 Resolve plus Banner you can get unlucky - and running still most likely means sacrificing Bros.

I guess you can try giving everyone Resolve raising necklaces too.

there are couple of strategies with hexes. Wooden sticks team is handy, so is having 3 or so high initiative archers. I dont remember whether undead trophy saves vs hex, if so you could basically solo them however many there might be

It's funny how sometimes a game just doesn't go anywhere.

Started another Ironman one. Made it until day 40 or so. Problem was, there were no really good contracts -- just boring safe courier/caravan jobs, occasional easy base clearings, occasional easy hunts, and then stuff I really didn't want to take, like Hexen. I didn't come across any brigands with decent armour I could rob, it took me ages to get past shit-tier weapons. I was breaking even with the boring contracts but without the good fights I wasn't leveling up my men or my gear. Hired a hedge knight who turned out to be perfectly decent. But still no good contracts and no good loot.

Eventually I took a hunting job that turned out to be a pack of dire wolves led by a frenzied one, and was done in by my poor armour -- lost two bros including the star of the band. I do have enough of a cash cushion to keep playing but this one just isn't any fun. Just a tedious slow unexiting grind spiced by dread of a series of bad rolls.

(By the way, you know those fights where you just KNOW you're going to get done in by the RNG? Like, whiffing five times in a row on 70+ hit chances, then having the enemy get in a series of crits on your shieldbros behind a shieldwall. I hate it when that happens... but then I think it's precisely that randomness that gives BB the tension it has.)

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.

I was going to ask if someone could explain why my bro couldn't hit this thug even though he clearly is within polearm range, but I figured it out on my own. I initially thought it was a bug, but it turned out that between the nighttime (-2 vision), his Night Blindness trait (-1 vision during nighttime) and his Ancient Honor Guard helmet (-3 vision) he had a vision range of... 1 tile!

I do wonder about enemy ranged units sometimes. They seem to be consistently making "impossible" shots, like hitting my sergeant with decent ranged defence behind a shieldwall of those nice big shields. My best archer would probably have around 17% hit chance for something like that.

I mean, I've hit necros or hexen on the back row without ever moving and sometimes with cover in the way, so if those archers have a higher attack value than me + the cover reduction perk thing, then they should have a low but plausible chance

Re. Hexen, I'm still not high level - my second DLC company only just hit level 8 & the first invasion - but I find up to two Hexen manageable. With a ~100 resolve Sergeant, and other bros averagig ~50 on their own (necklaces help), they do seem to resist some of the charms. I like to space everybody out like you're fighting Alps, so that your dudes aren't caught in AOO range of the turned people. Or you might purposefully take your best defensive guy and have him just shieldwall next to the turned one, keeping him harmless.

I usually get fucked when one of my archers turn, and they start firing from behind. (One archer, really? I have an irrational fondness of archers, so I take ~4.)

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Lost my day 109 veteran/Ironman save to a 14 stack of orc warriors that I couldn't run away from. :negative:

This time I'm going to be more methodical about how I build my bros instead of just picking on an as-needs basis.

Can someone give me a quick rundown on why people are bitching about nimble being OP on the steam forums? In my last band, I took battle forged/brawny/med-heavy armor on all my melee bros and found myself unable to cope with armor penetrating enemies like lindwurms. I want to try nimble out but I play ironmeme so I'm not sure how viable it really is.

Also, has anyone successfully integrated throwing weapons into their lineup? Is having the option for ranged worth quickhands?

current plan:
front liners
pump HP, Mdef, Initiative
equip them with heaters and 1h maces with overwhelm
skills: colossus, recover, shield expert, rotation, mace mastery, overwhelm, nimble

You need decent ranged skill throwing weapon perk and maybe even duelist also you better throw it with no shield (bonus dmg)
>pumping initiative
For what purpose?
EEspecilly that you not plan take dodge.
JJust let the maces do the work. Pump melee attack and resolve. Bosting both woth iron will or backstaber/quick adaptation isnt bad idea.
Also pump Fat. 70 minimum.

Also consider indomitable.

Nimble is very viable to the point i seen people building companies full hp. It looks retarded when they are all clothed in necro hats and shirts.
But light medium armor is viable too. 50-60% hp damage reduction is no joke.
I regret not switching earlier.

The noble war is reaching its climax, and.... yeah, 27 vs 29. This will take a while.
