Better buy before release; lower price.

10 out of 10 in the "support the indie devs" department
Sorry for not being rich as you.
If a difference of 8 $/€ is your price point for being rich/poor maybe you should consider other hobbies...

way too much, guess i better buy it now in that case

edit: or wait till its 75% off

edit2: or download a full content demo

edit3: or replay dungeon siege 3

Game looks awesome.

But I didn't understand how it works as a campaign.

Is there any plot in the game?

Not strictly speaking. You're just tasked with building a strong, wealthy, and renowned mercenary band. The closest it has to a plot is an "end game crisis," victory in which the game considers a de facto campaign win. Apart from that, there are ambitions that you can choose to work towards that serve as milestones in the development of your band, but most of the game is taking individual contracts and raiding enemy locations.

Gasped the first time I got a dude beheaded. Feels so bad! Game is very good at communicating your horrible decisions. The jump out of two man coverage and lose head move. Also my archers hitting 1/10 62% shots is gloriously heart breaking. Any deaths in that battle of which there were many, I put on their shoulders, nothing to do with me. Last time I buy them a round.

Try crossbows, that armour penetration feels good, man.

Then what is the point of other ranged weapons? Or rather... what is the downside of crossbows? Longer reload time?

The reload and the shorter range. The reload means you'll max out at 2 shots a round (with a kill) vs. the bow's potential 3, you'll wind up having a range 2 tiles shorter vs. a bow with mastery, and the fact that firing and reloading is essentially a full turn action means you're less mobile in general than with a bow.

That said, I think crossbows are usually the stronger choice. Bows are devastating against low defense, barely armoured enemies, but so's just about everything.

EDIT: Actually, the fire rate difference is bigger than that. A bow can do 3/rd. on average; the crossbow can get 2 on the first round, then 1 thereafter unless they take a full round off. So it's more like 1/rd. with a step every other round vs. a bow's 3/rd. still or 2.5/rd. with two steps every other round.

Additionally, the cross bow needs to get a kill with the first hit, while the bow has two opportunities to score a kill, meaning that it's much easier to fire bows at full ROF.

Indeed. Mid/late game enemies with armour are a real pain in the ass.

I'm ready

:balance:

Josh Sawyer has been tweeting about this a lot on his twitter lately. If it has his seal of approval, then I'm sure it is good, wholesomely balanced fun. It is probably the closest modern equivalent there is to Darklands, and likely to remain so - at least until Sawyer's historical RPG comes to fruition, anyway.

As President, CEO and Glorious Leader of the Quality Newfags Clubs™ @ 2015 Edition, it is my duty to inform you, gentleman, that this individual's terrible taste associated with low effort shitposting is NOT representative of 2015 newfags. Most 2015 newfags seek to integrate and live peacefully in glorious Codexia, but there are always a few bad apples. Don't let them skew your perception of 2015 newfags in general. In other words, #notall2015newfags

Srsly, tho, I'm VERY happy with this announcement and I'm sure Battle Bros will be an extremely strong contender for the tittle of Codex 2017 GOTY. If anyone wants to see some cool combat footage, I got some:

Can't say I'm gonna :d1p: because I already own the supporter's edition :smug:.
