Whenever I played DX, this didn't bother me at all. Some people have ADHD I guess. I actually argued with someone about this. He said the "gameplay" in DX was shit because of stuff like this. I quote: "You pick a lock and YOU WAIT. This is boring bullshit.". To him, the concept of resource management and timing (i.e. stealthing instead of shooting everything in your way) was alien and alienating.
On the other hand, you have games like DX: HR where you have a mini game every five steps on the way and it gets so boring so fast you start playing something else instead.
Mini games are for mini gamers.

 

The waiting for hacking was boring, I would have preferred it if instead they had the screen open up instantaneously and make the bar go down faster to compensate.

Lockpicks and multitools were fine though, that was over in seconds and the wait was, in theory, tense because of your chance to get caught by a patrolling guard. No such thing ever happened to me, still that was the intent.

 

This reminds me, Dark Souls has not a single mini-game. In before Skyway.

I think it's nice to see a Biodrone and an ex-Biodrone finding common ground. Lesi could perhaps benefit from overcoming her hate of the United States and its ridiculous visa application process and fly to Vegas to get properly seduced (she realized she was gay not too long ago and resents the patriarchy for tricking her young, impressionable mind into believing she was straight through internalizing homophobia).
