In some versions Vault Dweller automatically blows the Overseer's ass to heaven if Bloody Mess is picked.
EDIT: Ugh I misread what you asked.

Well, not that serious, it's just the end cutscene. I think the return of savegame imports that also import plot decisions has made people care more about this type of stuff.

They should have changed it to your character accidentally dropping his gun and it blowing overseer's face off in the most gruesome manner possible in game:

I never played the Uncharted games, but the screens all looked better than that one. What happen?

That's pathetic. I was seriously underleveled, knew there was another way around it, but still charged head-on into the trolls on the bridge in the first town in Arcanum and got raped. What happun human race where brian go?

RE: Fallout choice and consequence ruining a larpers day, what about Junktown. The 'goodguy(tm)' option is to help Krellan kick out the evil gizmo, and in the ending sliders if you do that the town dies from lack of business/gets overrun by muties. If you pick Gizmo it becomes rich and prosperous and has its future secured. Surely that would piss off one of them larper faggots by being the ultimate paragon having your choice of backing Macguyver fucking up an entire town.

Sure its a trait that you pick at character creation but fuck, really? Thats something to gripe about?

    Fuck those retards losers.

    Another disingenuous comparison. Come on.

The second screen looks like an analog capture. The fact that NOLF2 stands well in comparison to Uncharted 3 on this specific screen capture is because of the more limited RAM consoles have. But for everything else, Uncharted 3 wins.

When you look at the games in motion, it's not contest. Quite a few scenes of the Uncharted games are really quite breathtaking, it's not even in the same league. The earlier Lith Tech games really didn't look that good either, they always lagged behind the competition.

Tbh I wouldn't blame the players for not guessing that they should ignore the guards. "You can't pass" means "You can totally pass" just as often as it means "No really, you can't - turn around and find another way".

At least they never put that in a computer game. Or did they?
But New World Computing gave us this:

Lower left corner - fitting reaction face to this monstrosity.

There is quite a difference between unforseen consequences of your character's actions due to world's logic independent of your character and control taken away from you without any justification just because you've taken a lulztrait.

Or maybe we should actually praise all those moments in oblivious when scripts lock you in cutscene paralysis because devs couldn't allow you to interfere when they wanted a lulzvillain murder someone right in front of you, or bioware making your carefully positioned party ready for tactical entry casually stroll into a room to get 'ambushed' by enemy you could have full well expected both in- and out of character?

Also, IIRC, the endings for Junktown got swapped around because Interplay got scared of player butthurt.

In a game that's inpired by Thief and Deus Ex, and where you explicitly play an assassin who's supposed to break into people's houses and fucking kill them, it should be the logical conclusion that actually exploring private quarters that you aren't supposed to go into is something you should do. The mission gives you a goal, so the player should just fucking look at that goal and make a guess at how he's supposed to finish it. It shouldn't be too fucking hard to figure out that going past the guards is something at least worth a try.

    This.

CK cannot into understanding that "You can't pass" heavily depends on the context.

If you have to "guess" and "give it a try", it's not immediately obvious. Sure, they should have realized after wandering uselessly for a while that ignoring the guard was the right thing to do, but if you're an assassin trying to kill someone it's not farfetched to assume that you should find another way in (say, a vent or a window, or finding a disguise), instead of taking the guarded stairs like you own the house.

edit: just to make it clear, I'm not defending the guys for giving up and wandering around hoping for the mission to complete itself.

Didn't Valve once say that when they focus tested a level with a completely linear initial section, sans for one sidepath which led back to the beginning, a certain percentage of players would continuously take that path, and be unable to progress? Think I read that in some discussion about nonlinearity in level design.
