As for David Cage - Heavy Rain isn't cinematic experience. More like straight to dvd B-grade movie. Omikron was much better, even though mixing the genres wasn't the best idea (the fps parts and combat ones), but at least it had interesting story. Even Fahrenheit, besides the horrible ending was more likeable. HR tries to be a good thriller, but it has so much holes and stupidity that only nice graphics can force someone to play it.

 

Omikron has David Bowie on it, which is pretty incline. Heavy Rain is just a mess.

 

But it is adult. I feel it is the first game that treats me with the respect I deserve as a thinking intelligent person.

I read in an interview that the teeth brushing part is supposed to be as boring and inane as it looks, to make you feel like the hero is a boring normal person before he gets thrown into ADVENTURE. I guess it's one of those ideas that looked better on paper.

 

Calling this a "cheat" is fucking retarded at best. It's a bug (or even an intentional feature to give the player a source of infinite resources) that can be used, as intended, to receive the associated in-game benefits.

This is more like saying "you can level up your characters manually, or you can pay for an XP pack. If you don't buy XP packs until your characters are all max level, you're cheating, because you're bypassing microtransactions."

 

FFS, the issue with Heavy Rain wasn't that its story was too mature or that people couldn't understand it, rather that, mechanics wise, it was a uninspired adventure game.
