I want to believe, but we all know how this is going to end. Either kickstarter moneygrab from fans, or some popamole shit. Either way it would be glorious after all this shit if they would bring real talent and start producing glorious crpgs again (perhaps they realized that there is a medium sized market for such games which is "untapped"), but that will never happen. What "new" talent can they bring in anyway? All the young devs have grown on popamole shit and consider it the pinnacle of gaming, so we would only get shit anyway. Too bad they rape the glorious Black Isle name though... :( Obviously franchise rape wasn't enough...

I think I know why. Considering they're barely adding shit to BGEE in comparison to the actual BG, couldn't be bothered to remake graphics, interface, etc... well, they probably couldn't be bothered to remove the Black Isle logo at launch so they had to rebuild the studio.

Makes sense.

I fear you may be right.

If this has anything to do with Trent Oster and his ass-raping Baldur's Gate: EE, I want to punch that motherfucker right in his goofy grinning face. And that's what it looks like at this point.

Check out their new Facebook page

They slapped Planescape Torment right on the cover (along with god awful Dark Alliance 2) and festooned the rest the page with all the past game's boxart. Funny enough though, Fallout: BoS seems strangely absent.. ha.

I usually try to see such things positive.

In this case, though, I'll make an exception. This is seriously fucked up.

Oh... maybe they will do Fallout Online!

There's good money to be made in RPGs, just not AAA blockbuster money.

Interplay apparently survives on just fumes, so they could the one to try and tap those niche genres that the big boys don't bother with.

That's why I was asking what kind of guy Caen is. Can he actually organise a resurrected Black Isle well enough to deliver something half decent?

But he doesn't have the rights to BG right? He only has the name of the company?

Atari got the rights to all the Black Isle D&D games from Interplay in a settlement years ago, I think.

Herve Caen: Master of Necromancy

I'm sad that hundreds of retards will now hear that "Black Isle" is back and start jizzing in their pants, without bothering to realize that none of the persons that made that company have anything to do with Herve's zombie.

Apparently we've moved on to mouth-raping entire classic development houses instead of just whoring out franchises for name-recognition.

The worst case scenario they are going to make some shit and die for good.
There is always a chance (very small one) that when someone makes a game, no matter how bad they are, it's going to be good. The more rpgs made the better our chances are
