But I did! The last one, anyway - it's in the Playground thread.

I didn't write up the first one because, much like that crotchety ol' grumbler Mantiis, I'm a very sore loser. And besides, nobody should have to write up their own crushing 3-0 defeat. Nobody.

You know what they say - history is written by the victor.

That and I have a bad memory and literally forgot the other unfortunate things that you pointed out.

Good job, Grotsnik - both on the game and the writeup. I'll definitely watch the replay when my copy of the game arrives, as the *borrowed* version I have now is stuck with some old patch and does not cooperate with replays from 2.0.1.0.

Good thing, You've shown Vampires their place, Castanova even if You had to it with elves. Hope You repeat the feat in the rematch.

Also, don't mean to derail the thread, but I just have to complain to someone. I mentioned creating an ogre team for Story Mode earlier and I'm beginning to regret it. Not because of Bone Head firing up in the worst possible moments and costing me matches - it's annoying but I got used to it already - but because fucking ogres only have access to General skills on fucking doubles! Block only on doubles! For a bashy team! It's ridiculous! I'm not even mentioning Tackle.
Okay, having 2D or even 3D blocks everywhere is great but getting beaten by fucking elves because You roll Both Down everywhere is NOT cool. I've had like 20 level-ups for ogres so far and not a single one of them was a double. I've only had two doubles on snotlings - and one of them died right in the next match (Apothecary also rolled Dead, for added insult).
Having said that, the last match I've played against elves (don't even mention those fucking elves to me - I've lost every single one match against them so far, except one match against Dark Elves when I got really lucky with injury rolls) ended with 3-5 defeat for me and it was truly glorious. I even managed a one-turn touchdown: pick up with a snotling, hand off to another snotling near the LoS, TTM with a nearby AG3 ogre and then straight to the endzone. All went through without a single re-roll.
    Can't wait to try multi.

Well, my work is done and you guys can see some moderately interesting numbers. I'm not sure it's worth the time it takes to gather and watch the replays but you can see a graveyard and team stats pretty easily with these.

Of note is that I had a hell of a time uploading the ManT v. Yardie match, so I eventually had to fake it. That means that some people are missing in the graveyard as are some stats :(

    HERE'S A BUNCH OF LINKS:

    Graveyard:
    http://94.23.239.117/BloodBowlManager.W ... lang=en-US

    Team Stats Image:
    http://94.23.239.117/BloodBowlManager.W ... lang=en-US

    or Iframe:
    http://94.23.239.117/BloodBowlManager.W ... lang=en-US

There are standard hall of fame stuff and standings but those aren't as accurate as Mantiis' because of the stats I am missing.

Let me know if you guys think this is worth continuing. I am apt to say no.

Are human catchers worth fielding? They start with very nice skills and movement, but their other stats are horrible and I'm sure they'd be targeted relentlessly by other coaches due to their shit armor and strength.

I really dig the looks and moxy of the human team, but STR 2 catchers kinda sucks.

It's a blast. My only beef is the amount of :smug: in the matchmaking games I've played so far.

It's more funny than enraging, but most of my opponents seem to regard their own touchdowns as genius strategic planning and mine as mere luck-induced flukes.
The butt-hurt can be pretty hilarious. I think I literally felt hatred transmitted through the screen when I killed this one dude's black orc and his apothecary roll was a -1 STR injury.

I'm getting a lot of these -1 STR injuries on my snotlings. Gotta love them. :smug:

EDIT: Also, yeah, I don't know why human catchers are weaker than elven catchers. It doesn't make much sense.

    @Shuma

These look nice, especially the graveyard is cool to have, to honor memory of fallen players, but if they're very time-absorbing and/or PITA for You then maybe not worth the effort.

One or two, they give you fast assists at least, and it's not a huge problem if one dies as they are cheap.

Heh, I remember one dude really steaming in a real BB match, and when his opponent asked if he wanted some ice cream he just snapped "FUCK ICE CREAM, I JUST WANT TO GO HOME".

No wonder, BB is a rage game. I usually must have lots of beer with it, otherwise I'll just snap when, say, an undead team KO's all of my Nurgle Warriors and four other players in three turns, and after the game gets two +1 strengths.

Group 1 Day 3: The Ladies Club - The Dandy Fops

After a tough game vs. the Furious Furries the Amazons had to bring two journeywomen to fill their decimated ranks. The loss of their lvl2 blitzer would definitely hurt. I having somehow outbashed the Norse field only one journeyman and three level 2 players.

The Fops choose to receive and again the psychotic fans of Group 1 live up to their reputation and start a riot. The clock keeps running for one turn before order can be restored. A catcher and two blitzers, flanking him, break through the Amazons lines. Two Amazons mark the Elven offense and another two try to reach the their thrower. But the Elven blitzers just push the defenders away. Fearing an interception another Amazon is downed, Baudelaire throws his 4th completed pass and Wilde runs it in.

After an OK kick the Amazons build a cage just behind the LOS. The Elves try to attack the front but fail to take a single Amazon down leaving their left flank wide open. The ball carrier hands off to a catcher, who rushes towards the end zone but the Elven catchers team up to take her down. Two Amazons try to support her but she fails the pickup, not having any rerolls left. Still on the sideline she get pushed into the crowd. The Amazon blitzer picks it up and tried to push a catcher out of the way. But he rips her hand off! Luckily the apothecary is able to stitch it back on, saving her life. Her hand is still smashed, so she has to pause a game. The scattered ball is caught by an Elven catcher. (I guess I found a bug here: Nerves of Steel doesn't work even though this is a catch roll) The second Amazon is knocked out. My blitzer makes it three in the center of the pitch. The turn ends with a failed handoff. Pussycat tries to pick up the ball but fails since it's in two tackle zones. I try to just keep it in tackle zones and down as many Amazons as I can, but fail a block. This time an Amazon picks it up but fails to dodge out again. Half-time.

Two Amazons return, one of them with help of Bloodweiser babes. Ten Elves vs. nine Amazons, who start and end their turn with a failed pickup. I send my elves to get the ball. But this time the ball is picked up and passed to a catcher on my left flank, which I again left wide open just rushing for the ball. Again I send two elves to down her, again get two pushed dice but this time don't reroll it. My catcher next to the ball carrier gets blitzed and his catcher runs it in.

An Amazon and an Elf return for the next drive and it's 10 vs 10. My lineelves fail to break through the center, only pushing their adversaries. A blitzer has to show them how it's done, killing a linewoman. Now there's a corridor for my catchers to slip through. I end the turn by picking the ball up. He marks both my catchers and one blitzer gets in the way of my thrower. I block and blitz a catcher and a lineelf free, the thrower passes to the lineelf, who hands it off to the catcher, who runs it in for a touchdown.

Another riot and another turn skipped. He picks up the ball, throws it to a catcher, who hides behind his line. I forget to get a lineelf back on his feet before my journeyman rolls bothdown/bothdown vs. a blitzer. Now he can blitz through my center exploiting the gap I left with my rookie mistake. I dodge my two catchers free again and take her down and out of the game by fouling her. The game ends with no one in reach of the endzone.

    Here's the replay.

Nice. I was looking at BB Manager, but I was too lazy to try it out. You have been fast-forwarding the replays, right? Can you also see dice distribution? This way we can tell if Mantiis really had shitty dice, or if he just sucks!

And I think YOU should continue it! :P

Best punching bag! That's me! But what surprises me is that I'm third for passing yards...

I had a draw against the former champ. I'm quite satisfied with the result, not bad for a newcomer, I guess.

    OldSkoolKamikaze's Goblins vs desocupado's Humans

    Replay: http://www.mediafire.com/?d7taypocps1ozon

Our division is in a four-way tie, and Dirk and root just tied their match. The winner of this one will take lead in our division. A tie will continue the four-way tie.

Deso wins the coin flip and chooses to receive. I kick, and it lands right into the hands of a Catcher in his backfield. He moves most of his team to the side of the pitch guarding the ball carrier. I move some Goblins in front of the mass of human players, and strategically place my Bombardier in hopes of him nuking the opposing team! Deso continues to advance, being slowed by my Goblins. Deso also runs a catcher, unguarded into the middle of the pitch. I move some players, to continue slowing down Deso's advance, and have some fun harassing the lone Catcher who has the same strength as my Goblins! Then, this is it. With my Bomber is place, I toss a bomb hoping to hurt a bunch of humans! I roll a one and fumble the bomb. I use a reroll, and fumble again causing my Bomber to blow himself up, getting a stun, and creating a turnover. Useless bastard...

Deso continues his slow grinding advance, and uses a Blitzer to save his poor Catcher from my two mischievous Goblins. While one of my Trolls is standing around being stupid, the other one is able to Badly Hurt a Lineman, giving me a player advantage. And when my Bomber is able to get back up, he finds himself lying next to the swarm of humans. I attempt to dodge him away to setup a nice easy throw next turn, but he fails the initial roll and the Dodge reroll. Piece of shit. Next turn, Deso fouls my downed Bomber and he gets Badly Hurt. Meh, Deso probably did me a favor. I move my two Goblins that were covering the catcher forward to protect against against the advancing horde.

It's Deso's turn 5, and he's only advanced halfway into my half. With my two Goblins no longer harassing his Catcher/Blitzer combo, he runs his ball carrier backwards, away from his defenders and hands it off to his Catcher. His catcher runs towards the endzone, but stops one square shy. He's got a blitzer in position to prevent me from getting a 2D block, but I can easily get a 1D block with a reroll after a GFI. I go for the blitz, and fail the GFI. I use up a reroll and end up rolling a Both Down. Next turn, Deso's thrower picks up the ball and runs it in for a touchdown.

    Show Spoiler
    1-0, Humans lead.

Deso sets up strongly on the line of scrimmage. With only 3 turns left, I keep a Troll off of the line of scrimmage in case I fail the pickup. The ball lands in the middle of my half, and is picked up by a Goblin. The Goblin runs up and attempts a hand-off, but the other Goblin fails his catch. I use a reroll, and he fails again causing a turnover. Deso attacks aggressively, KOing a Goblin. I think he tried picking up the ball, but failed. Regardless, he had one Catcher with a tackle zone on the ball. On my turn, a Goblin hits the Catcher, but only gets a push, leaving him next to the ball. I then blitz him with another Catcher and manage to push him away from the ball. My Pogoer picks up the ball and hands it off to a wide open Goblin at the halfway mark. His only players within blitzing range are covered by a Troll, who I then also cover with some Goblins. Next turn, my Goblin runs it in unopposed. Touchdown!

    Show Spoiler
    Halftime, 1-1.

Before Deso can kickoff, it starts pouring rain! Luckily for me, his kick is too short and I give the ball to my Pogoer. My chainsaw player opens up by stunning a Blitzer. My pogoer and a swarm of Goblin defenders move towards the new opening. On my next turn, my chainsaw player fails to bring down the next player in line, effectively stopping my advancement since Deso is able to bring the rest of his team over to plug the hole. Stopped, I backtrack and make my way back to the middle of the pitch. On the way, I'm able to triple team a Lineman with my Goblins and take him out of the match with a Badly Hurt. On my next turn, I'm able to move a Goblin cage to the opposite end of the pitch. Then I got greedy. I had plenty of time to chew up the clock before scoring, but I decide to advance forward despite Deso's defenders catching up. I get one defender and my ball carrier forward before a failed dodge ends my turn. I can score next turn if my ball carrier stays standing, but he doesn't. Deso uses an assist to get a 2D block on my Pogoer and knocks him down. The ball bounces out of bounds and back towards the center of the pitch.

In the pouring rain and lots of tackle zones, no one was able to pick up the ball. I parked my chainsaw and a Troll next to the ball, and beat up on any Humans that got near. I gave a Blitzer a Gouged Eye (MNG). Deso uses his apothecary, and got a Death. Deso and I were each able to badly hurt one another before the match ended.

    Show Spoiler
Tied match, 1-1. And our division is still in a four-way tie! At least we both got 60k and +1 FF.

Funny to see how different your trolls are faring. KingComrade being a butcher while DarkUnderlord is an useless idiot who can't even comprehend what to do when a team mate tells him. Sad that we again didn't see anything from the bombardier, he has such great potential.

Sadly? Thank the fucking gods. The chainsaw guy did enough damage, thank you.

I just watched the replay of Kaiserin and root. I gotta say, root is a lucky bastard, that pass was ridiculous. I was almost feeling sorry for Kaiserin. That's two players dead on her team, plus some injuries.

Finally got my copy of the game yesterday evening, and even managed to convert it to glorious English, as local translation kinda sucks. My ogres celebrated by making two pass interceptions in a match against elves (after being unable to even pick up the fucking ball in the match before). First victory against the pointy-eared fags that wasn't caused by weather and/or game bugs.

I can finally watch all the replays from the glorious Codex League. I'm also anxious to try multiplayer. Good thing weekend is coming.

For the second time this season, one of my matches has been ended prematurely by a power outage. First time it was on toastboy's end, this time, it was high winds on mine.

Pity as it was a really fun match, I again was losing players left and right, this time I was getting lucky with some dodge rolls and was hanging in there against Undead Phoenix's Furries.

Here's the replay of the aborted match and hopefully we can get the game reset soon:
