Can anyone please help me identify this old DOS-era RPG?

This is actually the first time I#ve heard of Rage of Bahamut - and from what you wrote there I'm glad that I didn't discover it back when I still thought Magic: The Gathering was a worthwile investment:M

Ah, that's too bad, since I was mainly interested in Yendor 1 and was wondering if you had the original installer (there is an option to set the graphics to vga but it won't work without the original disks). I actually have the full version of Yendor 1 along with the official guide stored in a zip somwehwere. Feel free to PM me if you want/need it.

Oh well, it was worth a try. I was always intrigued by their sudden switch in gameplay from Yendor 1 to 2 and the motivation behind it. Still awesome that they emailed you, though.

Trust me, Rage of Bahamut is nothing like a REAL card game. Its just another of a plethora of "Freemium" games where you have to level up your cards by doing dull, repetitive tasks involving mindless clicking, and you have to purchase "Booster boxes" to get decent cards. A booster "pack" is a SINGLE card. "Boxes" are 5 cards, and cost 15 US dollars. Not to mention that even when you pay the 15 bucks, you only have a .05% chance at a good card. The rest of the cards are easily obtainable through non-paid means. Once a law was passed that forced them to list the % chance of card acquisition, the game lost players like you wouldn't believe. (or WOULD believe, most likely)
Of course, they hid the info in the bottom most corner of a hard to find page, in a font that barely showed up on the dark background. Not to mention that if you want to level up your cards, you can either get 1, maybe 2 levels up on a single card, provided that you are dealing with a very low level card, before having to either wait a few hours, or pay 5 bucks for some items to replenish your energy, which are used up in about 2 minutes.
I no longer bother downloading ANY games that are free, or which have an in-app purchase mechanic, with the slight exception of a few games, such as the Inotia series, since you can enjoy the games and finish them just fine without spending a dime, though if you spend, say, around 3-5$ you will probably never need to make another purchase. Given the quality and length of these games, not to mention the great story, I don't mind spending even double that.

When a game dev INTENTIONALLY nerfs the difficulty curve to force you to purchase crap just to be able to enjoy the game, then gaming in general suffers, since these games are marketed towards casual/new gamers, and people with phones, who normally dont play games. Take it one step further, and make it so that you must continually purchase again and again, and you not only give games a bad rap, but you should just straight-up rot in hell as far as I'm concerned. They prey on impulsive and compulsive people, and though I thought that I had not really spent that much, I was shocked when I added up all the purchases I had made (over 200$, NOT including my wife's account, which she still plays, and sadly, STILL pays for. She is at well over 1000$)

They go to great lengths to screw your wallet in this game.
After I quit, I let her have all of my cards. She had fun for 2 days, until they decided that she had too many good cards and decided that she must be cheating, and so took all of the cards I had given her away. I sent many strong emails with not very pleasant words in them, and finally they agreed that they had done her wrong. But of course, "I'm sorry, but we cannot give players cards, the system is set up to prevent that. We apologize for the inconvenience, so to make up for the cards you lost, here are 3 free gold pack tickets. "

So they took away my 200+ dollars worth of cards, which were nearly 300 in number, and made it all better by giving my wife 3 so-called "packs" of cards which of course ended up being all COMMON cards. (only 1 card PER PACK).

Yet there are numerous people who cheat the system all day long and have hundreds of legendary cards that are only given out at the end of events, and only the top 3 players get them, but somehow, some guy has over a hundred of them, and is #1 on the leader boards with a score that is triple what the #2 spot has.... But they pick on my wife, because I gave her my cards...
Bottom line, its simple. They knew she spends a ton of money on the game, and I just gave her a bunch of good cards. Now she has no reason to spend money any more. So they invent a reason to take them away from her so that they can continue to milk her bank account.

I've begged her to stop, but for whatever reason, it makes her happy, and she no longer goes over her 40$ a month limit, so what can I do?

But I would caution ANYONE else from ever wasting their time with this crappy game.

(sorry for the rant, but GOD I HATE R.O.B.!)

And I would be interested in the first yendor game, but honestly, I couldnt get into the demo, so I would probably just have it on the computer to have the full set.
By the way, Magic the Gathering CAN be a good investment... provided that you never play with the cards and sell them on ebay. I used to make a decent ammount selling the rare cards from yugioh, MTG and pokemon, but the only one i really played was Magic. I gave up on it after my local shop closed down and I had no one left to play a game with. Not to mention that the game has shifted so much, now that they release a new expansion nearly every month. Not only has it killed the value of the cards, but it makes it nearly impossible to keep up with, unless you are rich and eat, sleep, and breathe the game 24/7.

Sorry, I have never found a full version of Roger Ramrod. I tried playing the demo a few months back, to show a friend, and I must say, it hasn't aged well.
I used to have the full version CD, but it is cracked and peeling. (Don't store CD's in the attic. The heat will make the cheap ones peel...) I have looked around for it online, but can never seem to find it. Even if they list it as the full game, it never is. The company that made it (don't remember the name) is no longer in the game business. If I remember correctly, they now make software for corporate use. There is no mention of the game anywhere on the site. (Unlike the game 'Enemy Nations' which is a good strategy game with the same M.O. - The company now makes business software. However THEY actually have a download link for the free game, and are proud of it.) I can't really help you out with the ramrod game. If you do happen to find a copy, feel free to share it here. I don't really log on anymore, but I guess I still had the thread on email notification. There are a lot of people looking for that silly old game. It was a riot back when it first came out. I will never be able to forget the wang-riding midget bikers. That was by far, the most hilarious enemy from any game I have ever played. And the whole screen fading black and hearing 'I told you you'd go blind!" for when you 'yank' it too much was a nice touch. (no pun intended, lol)
