Fallout 4 is definitely an RPG.
If Fallout 4 is a RPG then also Ass Creed Origin/Odyssey are RPGs. Peraphs even more-
This but unironically. This photo highlights the absurdity of it.

TemplarGR is just a budget Roqua.

Roqua had way better taste in games.

I hate to say this, but i have to agree with TemplarGR on this one. Bethesda is making rpgs, just bland ones. They are the softporn producers of rpgs. Their writing is also about on the same level.

There's plenty of rpg's with no choices and consequences.

Then they are not RPGs, plain and simple.

In a PnP, a master that doesn't allow to make choices according to your character abilities and doesn't present consequences for you choices, effectively rendering useless your input, is a shit master.

Edit: You don't play Fallout for its combat, do you?

If you strip C&C from it, you get Tactics.

Don't say any of that to all the Morrowind or Icewind dale or Wizardry fanboys on this forum, lol.

This. You may complain that the character build system got more and more simplified, as did quests, but in a game like Fallout 4 you still have lots of different character builds that are dependent on your character's attributes, and you have attribute checks in quests. Most quests are garbage, but there are still some with rather different outcomes (multiplied by bugging out :D), depending on your decisions. It's all rather lazy and lackluster, but it's still there. FO76 is in the MMO section anyway.

A category like "RPG" is not a mark of a game being good or bad. Even shitty ones qualify.

Odyssey is designed around paid micro-transactions so a lack of quest markers and a possible improvement to stealth don't stop it being a turd

Rewards scale to the difficulty you play on, micro transactions are for tards who play on easy

You fuck off. D&D is not the fucking Bible of RPGs, and it's also the spawn of a wargame. But the RPG genre has evolved since its creation.

Oh, yeah... the good olden Vampire days... when RPG world was aimed at emo wannabe-writers... and we thought we were finally doing away with filler combat and munchkins, only to have those pesky Tremere equipped with D&D magic (they even jested about this in the manual...), and each further supplement full of more die-hard monsters... yeah... noble try, but just a try.

You are just a kid, you roll your Brujah to be a good punkster, then a thug with 5 Potence decorates the pavement with your brains... that's the way of Vampire!

Also I guess that the novels weren't any good.

ffs stop moving threads around, it feels like living with a woman who wants to move the furniture around weekly for better chop suey or feng shui or whatever, but changes her mind as soon as you get used to the new configuration and wants everything back in place again.

Todd will outsource Fallout: New Orleans to Tim Cain and all will be well.
