Here's some summary what we learned from today's CDPR financial conference:

Cyberpunk

- they are promising a really big showing for E3 2019, even bigger then last year and equally as important

- they are not planning expanding Cyberpunk team much further (Adam Kicinski used even words "barely at all")

- when someone asked if part of E3 show will be a female pop artist, Adam Kicinski and Piotr Nielubowicz just laughed, then said that while they have some surprises, a female pop artist is not one of them, then for additional clarity they straight up denied this rumour

- the work on Cyberpunk is already very advanced

- again they said that they already have in plans to release Cyberpunk for the next generation consoles (if they get a chance to do so) and their engine is prepared for that

- the large portion of the marketing budget will be covered by publishers, similar to The Witcher 3 marketing, however, because of the expansion of digital market, this time they won't be covering as much

- regarding Google Stadia, they are already talking with Google about that, but can't confirm anything yet

The second AAA project

- the work on second project mentioned in the strategy for years 2016-2021 is currently on-going, however they ask not to speculate too much about what it's going to be (presumably referring to the people hyping it as The Witcher 4)

- the team currently working on the project is magnitude smaller then the one working on Cyberpunk

- it's not going to be a port of any sort, but a completely new content

- Adam Kicinski suggested that this game might be not nearly as big (in terms of budget and the team size) as Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk, but still top quality

A new game then.

Figured they would announce it before cb2077 release.
Also i thi k cb2077 will be wonter this year to go head to head with best.

Real question is what game ot will be.

Imho TW4 and start of new story probably with character customization.

I'm not sure a game that "might be not nearly as big (in terms of budget and the team size) as Witcher 3" will be The Witcher 4.

2nd game can't be Witcher 4 due to the "smaller and less budget" thing. Maybe a spinoff on Wicher series.

They confirmed already it is AAA game.
After releasing TW3 they said they have 2 AAA games in production and one AA

CB2077 was one AAA game
Gwent is AA that is what smaller budget meant.

So that leaves one unannounced AAA game.

TW4 is the most reasonable and it is not like they need to release it next year.
They could just announce it and do teaser with more information coming next year and full blow out 2021 with release 2021 holidays or early 2022.

Also Witcher 4 means that they could reuse lots of the assets from Witcher 3, which will save them lots of time and resources. If it's a complete new game, it will have a much shorter development time comparing to Cyberpunk and Witcher3, which is not a good sign.

It will be epic fail and far from W3 success, you will see :) i have bad feeling about it.
Bloodlines 2 will take crown from CBP for sure .
Cyberpunk setting is much less popular than typical sword + spell vs monsters + intrigues standard rpg cliche.
All that colours and eyebiting crap of futuristic techno artstyle will make playing CBP pain , and it will end like shooters compared to M:Exodus or Wolfenstein NO2 plus some rpg elements.
All that CITY - THEME plus VERTICAL HYPE will result in kind of Deus Ex experience, surely it will be good game but not next "breakthrough" , more like GTA 5 for GTA 4 .
Sure Hype will be great but all that Cybercrap for me is just meh, too futuristic like. Im more for Outer worlds in that regard.
But who knows there is large public for all that rainbow colours and shooting practice around. We'll see.
As for me im almost non interested in this release, will buy for crpg gamer duty but im sure i will leave it after 10 hours and not touch again.

As for long games, go for max and create 10000 hours worth content in single game, just like Chris Roberts trying to do, maybe it is some kind of new era short dick complex.
Every dev of rpg titles wants his game to have at least 50 h playtime
[ nevermind that it's quality filler shit makes you depressed ] .

It's a jab at Bethesda's games that have this game over screen "feature".

Also, most RPGs require you to successfully complete quests, at the very least as part of the main quest; so maybe that's not the case in CP2077?

How can it be a jab at Bethesda, when their games don't have this "feature"?

It's obviously a jab at developers like Rockstar, whose missions are strictly on rails and you get a mission failure for the slightest diversion.

Yes, the interesting thing about that question is that it indicates that CD Projekt have created the impression among some that their game is a GTA-like. Somebody who was thinking about RPGs would never have even thought to ask that.

Admittedly my only reference is Morrowind, but: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Essential_NPCs

The NPCs on this list are considered "Essential" by the game. If any of them are killed at any time, you will receive a message stating:

"With this character's death, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate, or persist in the doomed world you have created."

Has Beth changed that formula since?

Also, seems like this is a good newfag detector.

Yes. You simply can't kill essential characters in all games after Morrowind. The number of essential characters rose from game to game. Nowadays, every NPC that is somehow important for some major quest is essential, at least until that quest is over.

Well, it makes shitty escort quests bearable.
