On a more 'gamist' perspective - if your king has no Just trait, you should imprison him and release him.
The relations boost from Just is good, while releasing your vassal is a +10/5 depending on how important he is, bribe him if he's still in the negative.
Currently as Jewish Empire of Tartaria I don't know how people can maintain Absolute Crown Law with the short reign penalty seriously denting your successor's chance of remaining in power.
I'm on High now and not feeling the benefits much.

Played a nice game as Byzantium. Managed to mend the schism and reform the roman empire within my first rulers life. Converted to Cathar and switched to absolute cognatic gavelkind, because sometimes you want to watch the world burn.

There's basically no difference (-5) in opinion from Medium Authority/Max Feudal levies and Absolute Crown Law/Min Feudal Authorities. It shouldn't be too hard.

High is alright, but Absolute is where you really feel the boost in levies. Your greatly inflated levy size also helps deter rebels/attackers.

Presumably, the Cathars from our alternate histories aren't the same. Some things must have changed, otherwise the regimes would simply fall apart. But, yeah, I'd expect a cathar christian world to be no less insane than traditionalist Imperial China.

Paradox has a CK2 sale on Amazon. The Steam 50% sale is still effect, but the Amazon sale is 75% off.

It's too bad it was Ironman, I really wish I could reload and see the different outcomes.

I was so pissed off she was celibate. I wanted my kids to have her unstoppable Martial.

Load it up and play it? Not sure what I could suggest.

Old Gods is pretty much the best expansion for it, if you're looking for something new. Adds the most amount of playable characters and has an earlier start date.

If you're not playing ironman, you can remove the the trait with id 63 from her in the save file.

Solution: have her teach your kids.

Barren would've been a better trait instead of that for the game; amusing that the game presents that women somehow had a choice in whether to become celibate or not during those times.

After nearly four generations of Kings, the Serbian Kingdom finally has a super genius.
This guy has so much braincells that every sperm in his ball sacks has a mind of its own.
The Lack of Cassus Beli, once cited as the main frustration when trying to expand has now been overcome.
How? Heresy, that's what. Take a page out of the Red Book of Jesus Christ and let's conquer our weaker neighbours!

You cannot stand before the might of Serbia.

I'll give the Steam version one thing:

Sure is easier to buy and check on DLCs.

On the other hand, all that copy-pasting needed for the keys was mindboggling.

Also, for some reason the Tengriist bastards haven't reformed yet in my new campaign :(

With SoA, do Jews actually do anything to warrant expulsion (except lending money)? Pervade the economy/culture or any other negative events? Anything at all?
So far, both the only reason for expulsion and the penalty seem kinda gamey-level nonsensical in what's supposed to be a quasi-historical sim.

I've just found out a new exploit, due to the following two game rules:
    1. When you imprison a faction member, he is removed from the list of plotters, but not immediately.
    2. When you capture the leader of a plot, your war score changes to 100%.

When you imprison a faction leader just before he presents his demand (this requires a lucky savegame; mine was literally one day before the rebellion), he will start the rebellion that will be over before it starts, since you already have him as a prisoner.

Now you will get prestige for defeating rebels, the plot leader will lose prestige and remain imprisoned, you can revoke one title from each of the plot members (who will be imprisoned as well), and a +25 opinion boost for putting down the rebels. I know these are the standard reward for defeating a rebellion, the difference is that victory is instantaneous.

Another timing-related exploit, one I knew about for a long time, is to pause the game when a vassal lord dies, then give his heir a 20 gold gift. Since the gift happens the same day the heir receives his inheritance, the game still registers him as a landless person, so the standard 20 gold gift will be applied. This only works if the heir is not already a ruler when he receives his inheritance. I think of it as a congratulatory food basket my new vassals receive.

yeah but imprisoning him is already a tyrant penalty.
Basically the whole vassal plot forces the King to go for soft approach - using spymaster to tell them to break it up or else.
Also, whenever I see a revolt coming, I just park my retinue on their capital county so we can start siege early.

You're right, I hadn't thought about that since my plot leader was trying to fabricate a claim against one of my titles, so the tyrant penalty didn't apply. I found that I like to generally leave my landed vassals to plot, so that I can have a pretext to imprison them later if needed.

I prefer to raise my levies, park an army on his home county, dismiss my spymaster - and order imprisonment so it fails.
