I've seen the Tengri do pretty well a number of times. Cumans start out strong enough to acquire the 3rd Holy Site fairly well.

Rurik himself just poses a major short-term threat that needs to be eliminated before he can deal heavy damage.

Did anyone ever play in RoI with Socotra? I hear its the new Karen.

Also, turns out fatness is a new menace: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...t-II/page2&s=983965e1d84b9aaa293b2d6c62241b68

Also, turns out there was, somewhen, a bug that changed number of mongol hordes according to the number of jews in the world. Bug? Riiiiight...

EDIT: Tengrii reforms partly because they're a blob in vanilla, in CKII+ they're a bunch of divided khans, I saw Tengrii reform in early 900s something once.

Good to know for my future Khazarian Melonhead game, no silly Rurik viking is going to stand in my way of my Melonhead Khazarian Jew World Domination Plan.

Wait, what? That's totally bullshit, man! Ohgodohgodohd

    Iamdoomed.

CK2 is great because the game goes on without you. Just play and larp and see where it goes. Start as a Duke, you won't last long as a king and counts can get boring. See those big circles at the top of the screen? Make them go away.

    Interesting advice...
Is everything possible in this game? I mean things like allying with the Moors as a Christian country against other Christian countries.
I want to lead the Catalans in a crusade against everybody in the Mediterranean (Specially Greeks and Italians) and I see a good enemy of my enemies in the Islamic countries. They could take good care of the Spanish and French while I do my job. Easy!

Basics are still mostly the same, only tactics needed to be adjusted for all that changes. I don't think it is very hard to do, if you already know how to play Paradox games, especially earlier version of CK 2. As alternative you could try to find some AAR or LP from someone, who knows game mechanic and spend time to explain it to everyone, but I couldn't help you on that field.

Alliances are made with marriages, and only pagans tolerate marrying to other pagans, and indians faiths could marry with each other.

And same family. I suppose it is theoretically possible to have a Christian/Muslim alliance that way, But I have never tried it (and it likely would take forever to make happen, and last not very long).

Without modding pagans still take the -4 penalty to marriage with each other, the only pagan religions that by default have Intermarry enabled are Norse and Reformed Norse. It's possible, but very hard.

That, coupled with the new diplomacy range makes for slim pickings for some pagan rulers. Of course, kings are allowed to toggle marry_anyone and marry their genius daughter, who's there to stop them. :troll:

You can always kidnap a child, educate them in your religion while they are in your dungeon, release them, invite them back as an adult (they'll come since they like you with the same religion/culture bonus), and marry them that way.

But for 99% of the game religion will be a hardcoded barrier to everything.

Not marriage anymore, there's an intermarry line for religions now in the txt file. Specify the religion after it, and voila the INFIDEL penalty for marriage is gone. I've currently modded it for the Norse-Finnish-Baltic-Slavic pagan group. Left out the Tengri due to le blob, and later on MONGORIANS; it'd be kinda too easy to just marry MONGORIANS instead of having to fight them; Africans are left out because the question posed by other pagans would be "what is Africa? Is it much potato?"

Nooooo if they can't marry africans then how all these jungle-ferver pagan-orthodox leaders will get their fix of black wimminz?

Hmm, out of curiousity guys, is there any reason for a 'Fabricate Claim' plot to disappear? Was recently trying to swoop West Francia from under the control of the Karlings after gaining the duchies of Normandy & Flanders, but I had to stop it a couple of times as, like always, some people needed to be seriously murdered. Went I went back to try it again, the option simply wasn't there.

Is there a hard limit on attempts or something? Or is it based on the having a percentage of the current size of the Title in question, and not the de jure for plots (as there was a land grab, though I'm not sure when it happened exactly)?

It's just something that was bugging me, as I did manage to remove Karlings in a fairly round about manner, save now I'm trying to coax it out of my heir's hands as he's being a friggin' 'tard despite his stats (Marry my heir to my recently widowed sister? Derrr, that's a great idea!).

Huh. Golden Horde spawned, attempted to attack Cumania got assaulted by Ilkhan and wiped.
Meanwhile, Rum is nearly wiped out by Byzantine Liege AI.

You can check the requirements in common/objectives/plots

There are various conditions depending on whether they are your vassal, your lord, or a fellow vassal, with slightly different requirements for all of them so I don't know which could be the problem. Main requirements (for all of them I believe) is that you can't be in the line of succession for the title and it has to be in the same duchy as your capital (or primary title, dunno).

And IIRC there are certain traits that prohibit the plot, like Content. I'm not sure (never checked), but high relations might prevent plot too.

    Meanwhile, in Kurdish Zoroastrian Persia:

    Show Spoiler

The kurdish warriors of Ahura Mazda defeated the foul, fetid heathens of Baghdad. May their daughters sell themselves as whores and their sons become blind eunuchs.

The spoils of war go to one of the Shah's uncles, who once revolted against him but was given mercy in order to encourage obediency. He now loves the Shah and daily prays to Ahura Mazdra so that the Yazdras protect him from the foul possessions of Ahriman's djinns again.

The young Shah gives his young aunt the honour of being his companion in the royal bed, may she bear him many children (thankfully I'm not gavelkind anymore).

The world: The Shahdom of Justanid rules the northwest of Eran. The Hamadids are being battered by everyone and his mother, which is sad because they were lighting rods for sunni agression, and everyone and his mother fought each other for their land, there. Hormuz is weak but is winning against the Satrap of Karen and his brother, Satrap of Birjand, may their coming defeat humble them and make recognize who is the true Shahansha of Persia once he deftly takes land from the weak Saffarids again, which he will once he pays off the jews.

Shah Alah-Verdi is considered a tyrant by those who do not know better, but those who know better know that he prefers to be seen as a well-intentioned extremist who does what is necessary to save the faith, including banishing greedy mayors hoarding jewgold like jews rather than donating them to the nobility of the holy cause.

The Zoroastrian Reconquista proceeds apace, hail Ahura Mazdra! Soon all of Persia will be under the benevolent reign of the Justanids, and the Karens and others will bend the knee as the true god returns peace and good government to the realm.

    Too vague.
I'm seriously puzzled why they kept that mechanic somewhat 'unclear' when it's actually the only way intrigue characters are gonna get land without violence.

Also, tried the game with new patch.
-No more double trigger of events.
    -Ironman monthly saves still annoying.
-Got a heresy stronghold on one county. 106% revolt - yet nothing happens for like 2-3 years or so. Will monitor.

Byzantine game is going too well. I could like set successor to current Basileus, but I really want to see where this liege takes us to. And for once, play a Doux vassal. Or perhaps King-vassal at most, and try to push the expansion towards Indian before the time runs out.
