Pretty boring game. So many pushes and blockblocks on both sides.
Not a single skink was injured, but a wight got a niggling.

Tried to play saurusball the last 4 turns, didn't go so well. 1-0 in my favor.

Yeah, that game was a serious borefest. Oh well, the loss was expected, but damn shame that I didn't get to hurt anything. I'm so fucking SPP starved it's not even funny.

Hey, my Underworld have been averaging nearly 4 injuries per game, and they haven't faced the 'Flings or Amazons yet.

Pretty sure Jaedar's team was more bashy than mine when we faced off.

    The 47th's Sacrifice

    Show Spoiler
Knowing the Knights are in an awkward position of being the MCA League's King-maker - the 47th goes into this match with a point to prove. Can they actually beat a strong team?
Their record speaks for itself: 5 solid wins against team in the bottom half of the league (shaky opener against a dodgy Amazon excepted) - with losses to super strong Chaos, Lizard and Vampires. They're mid tier - they're not the best, but not the worst. On paper, they can compete, but the coach certainly lacks the acumen for that winning play. That's a rep they've been living with since the start of the tournament, and it still sticks to them to this day. That is, before the match with Beerfags started.

With the Beerfags needing a win to keep themselves on top, 47th decides to play spoiler and go all out. Four Catchers, Two Throwers, Five Linemen and Four Blitzers. And an Ogre is named on the line-up. Team value? 1 Million and 920 thousand gold. The highest in the league.

Coach deso is no slouch and hired a Star Yhetee and Extra Bloodweiser babe, perhaps to spoil the passing play that Knights have been experimenting of late.

Beerfags won the coin toss and chose to receive. Knights kicked open the play with a lot of scrappy turn overs and needless blocks - but the coach insisted this is who they thought they were all along and they shouldn't change their play style. They recovered after the turnover on the start and start the hurt.

Staying true to form, Star Killer Ky Kiske charges left and right, injuring a few norse, bringing the tally to 1 or 2 badly hurt Norse some knock outs, one of them probably had a smashed hip. A rookie Knight lino got a fractured arm, but that was it. Facing overwhelming pressure and a crazy Ogre blitz that is considered 'stupid and crazy' on their loose cage, the Norse couldn't delay the touchdown and went 1-0 up at Turn 4.

Applauding his players as they ready for a receiving play, RK47 brings in his big guns: four catchers enter the field, replacing almost all the linos from the line up. It's a clear signal of intent. Undeterred by the disturbing presence of two Yhetees - they equalized as the half finishes. It's a 2-1 grind playbook.

But the Knights armor wouldn't hold. Robo Ky died in the field of battle. While Anji Mito's suffered from a broken Jaw as he was pushed off the field. The knights are playing a dangerous game with the catchers weaving in and out of tackle zone every single turn as they try to get away from the Disturbing Presence. Even Hans Grayland danced with a lino that somehow managed a solo blitz vs 2 MARKERS! As the turn dies down, the situation gets desperate as the third Knight blitzer leaves the field - leaving just Ky Kiske on his solo , bloody act - 2 throwers still handling 2 charging Norse Linos and 4 Catchers dancing around a werewolf, 2 Yhetees and other faggots that drink beer. Oh, the Ogre? He got knocked out.

Finally they managed to knock the offending lino away from the ball on turn 14 - and as a catcher drop back to receive - he gets a handover from Grayland. Dashing into the end zone as the clock ticks down.
Two Yhetees charged into them - one even succeeded a dodge. But the heroic marking by three catchers and Killer Kiske proved sufficient to nail the winning TD at turn 16th. The Knights bench cheered as the Fags shoulders sunk - their championship dreams ruined.

Fists were shared as they ready themselves for the final drive where more drama awaits.

As luck would have it, Knights lost an ogre to a killing blow on the final moment. It refused to move after a knockdown- and the coach gently closed its eyes for its final time. The knights tearfully carried their Bro off the pitch in honor of a fallen comrade before depositing into a near vacant body bag next to Robo Ky's lifeless body. A fine end to Sol Badguy. He was bad, but that's good. Cause that's who we thought he was. The crowd stunned for mere moments before bursting into a tearful applause as the ref signals the game over. Knights 2 - Beerfags 1.

Supringsly close, considering the relative strengths of the teams. Insane pitch invasion left me with 3 players for the first two turns, and then a Blitz helped out Hump after he got ahead. Then he stole all my re-rolls and injured my ballsacker. I took it in the end, but it was far closer than I would have liked.

Hoverdog has fallen beneath my fists. He placed -his- honour on the line and faced me, rather than forcing me to concede the game with a ludricous no-show, and was mercilessly crushed into the dirt for it.

    -My- honour is restored.

    :necro:

I couldn't make his team bleed enough though, even after doubling the total number of fouls I've committed this season

Well, for some reason I'm guessing that Garm is usually unavailable on the weekends, so it's looking like we'll be playing on Monday or Tuesday. Oh, and seeing as it is the rare occasion that our opponent is on the same side of the Atlantic, hopefully scheduling a weekday game shouldn't pose an issue.
