So, Kieron Gillen has posted the beta ruleset for DIE.
http://diecomic.com/rpg/

For those who don't know, Gillen is a gamer cum gaming journalist cum comic book writer. Two of his favorite games are Bloodlines and Thief. I would be surprised is he isn't a Codex member or lurker.

DIE is his most recent comic book that came out last year. It's an ieskai about some gamers who are sucked into the world of the rpg they are playing. So far there's been a Tolkien issue and a Thief issue. He is also making an rpg based on the comic. In the RPG, you roleplay as gamers who are sucked into the world of the DIE rpg. So for example, we would roleplay as Codexers - either real Codex identities or fictional Codex identities.

From the Handbook:
Players and Gamesmaster (”GM”) gather and each generate a persona. This is a social group in the real world, complete with rivalries, passions and bitterness. Unlike many role-playing games, the GM also creates a persona.
So our personas are Codexers and our social group is the Codex. So you would roleplay as a different Codexer. For example, you could roleplay as Lilura, aweigh, Roguey, Blaine, Chris Avellone, Cleveland Mark Blakemore, Lyric Suite, Juan_Carlo or Lady Error.

Anyway, I think we could play this in Shoutbox scheduling sessions in between polebox, Christbox and SMACbox sessions, and then repost the transcripts here.

So first we need to organize 4-6 Codexers who are interested in playing. There are six character classes in DIE, each based on a... die.

1d4 - Dictator ---> like a super (evil) bard
1d6 - Fool ---> like a traditional rogue or swashbuckler
1d8 - Knight ---> basically a Paladin that draws magical strength from one of DIE's 8 alignments (i.e. Rage Knight)
1d10 - Neo ---> A cyberpunk, cybernetic rogue/ hacker/ shadowrunner
1d12 - Godbinder ---> a cleric/ summoner class
1d20 - Grandmaster ---> the wizard class or perhaps the DM?

So anyone interested?
