Heymen.
I grinded every one of my companies to level 3 on that stupid fuel truck mission and I want to know how I can backup this campaign progress.
Which files do I have to copy and where are they located?

I am only posting to express my displeasure that this is not a thread actually discussing CoH2 Ardennes Assault. Also, I don't know the answer to your question but I'd tell you if I did. May I suggest Google?

I already tried jewgle. Didn't find a useful thing, some say it's under user directory but it's not, at least for me. And Steam dir no idea.
A program which checks if files are altered would be useful but I don't know about such a thing, either.

Some random bloke on the internet actually said it's under:
Code:
Users\username\Documents\SH\data\cfg\SaveGames
Unfortunately, I can't confirm it for you cause I'd have to redownload the whole thing just for that.

Steam games usually litter Your Documents with their saves, so I'd bet it's somewhere there.
Searching the directory for Ardennes Assault or just SaveGames might yield some stuff, depending on how much shit you got installed.
Or maybe just backup the whole My Documents and see if it sticks.

maybe it is because I downloaded some cracked games before
Some directories do exist but they are either all empty or have too many files.

Besides, Ardennes Assault uses a running save so you have to end via task manager when you fugg'd up or else it saves. Must be some file that often gets altered I suppose but I don't know how to analyze such stuff.

In any case, you will need to have at least a vague notion where the changed files are. Because it is all saved to a file, question being how hidden it is.
Form experience, nobody bothers a lot with hiding "irnoman" saves from save scummers.

I never used this, but it looks like what you need for the job.

Alternatively, backup the suspicious directory and compare it with after the game was supposedly saved with this.

Thanks for the tip with the monitoring program.
In case anyone cares, for the steam version you just have to backup "ardennes_assault.xml" in the last folder of
C:\Users\%username%\Documents\my games\Company of Heroes 2\Savegames\ArdennesAssault\save%%
