I've not played Crysis 2 yet but how the fuck the aliens from Crysis and Warhead, the ones that could fly around and use very well the 3D space and force the player to use the mouse capabilities, suddenly become bipedal popamole infantry?

    "bipedal popamole infantry"

Crytek explained it that shooting bipedal dudes is more satisfying than a bunch of flying fish. I agree with that, the Aliens in Crysis 1 were a pain in the ass.

But it is true that aliens in Crysis 2 were more fun to fight than aliens from C1. Not that C1 aliens were too hard, just.. boring.

On contrary, for me, C2 aliens creates non-stop Halo 1 deja vu effects... (small alien, medium alien, big alien).
Not to mention, that purple biological penises at their back...

Anyway, if you look at modern shooter evolution you'll find rather a reduction not an expansion (CoD4>CoD5, BF:BC1>BF:BC2, C1>C2, FC1>FC2), so, if C3 would kindly follow the trend... Plus, imho, bow plus nano-suit is totally anticlimactic. What next, a prehistoric stone Wenus as weapon? Eh.

When the player started to face aliens in Crysis and Warhead the entire gameplay changed, from hide and seek predator-like to a more agile and "on-the-move" approach where the aliens moved around the battlefield all the time.
I don't know. In Crysis 2 all enemies seems to play the same, always moving on the horizontal plane, with is understandable since console player would have a very hard time trying to aim at the tentacle-things from Crysis 1 (a kind of enemy that, as I said before, uses the 3D space very well).

I am mindblown this deserves a thread. After the Super-Heroic Badboy beginning of the first Crysis, I never touched anything by Crytek again. It was one of those cases of a hackneyed plot, generic gameplay, S00PER GRAFIX!!1!, and an ultra-buffed steroidal main character that chews nails for breakfast that turned me off. Nope, nothing here! Not for this artist.

Crysis and Warhead multiplayer were fucking AWESOME! Giant maps, using the suit techniques against each other.

As long as you don't pay the greedy marketers, funk! Supposedly Modern Borefare was great, too.

    *plants a C4 on a truck*

    *drives truck off a cliff*

*jumps out of the truck before it falls*

    *presses the detonator*

*watches from top of cliff as an exploding truck falls on Arcuturus*

Players with generic imagination will only end up complaining about generic gameplay, since their generic mind will only produce a generic playing style. It's like complaining that driving is boring, because you only drive around in suburbia and never tried your car in the countryside.

Or like complaining that RPGs are boring, whilst playing all fighter parties. Or saying that Dawn of War does not have much variety, whilst only choosing to play Space Marines.

Those are PC screenshots btw. I expect the Next-Gen console graphic fidelity to produce similar results.

Except, we PC elitists gamers can enjoy it far earlier!

Well, if "power" can talk, what it say about "gameplay"? When, developers (mainly) struggles with hardware limitation (C2 case), gameplay stand back to the second sits.
Besides, all of graphics whory-glory of C1, means nothing without sandbox pile of fun and freedom. I'm afraid that C3 will follow ME trend - that is - simplification and movienation (or CODcations) of gameplay, constitutes a series of mythological 15 seconds of orgasmic fun. It's not about satisfaction, is all about memory. After reading Kathe Koja why bother with Koontz (for example)?

I highly doubt it, at least if any of the rumors are true. Anyway, New York again? Are we reusing assets again EA?

Crysis 1 was a boring tech demo.
Crysis 2 was a p fun little shooter with stealth elements. Great soundtrack too. Worth a trip to the bay of pirates.

    Haters gonna hate.
