what's the point of this kind of trailers?

edit: did Eric Warts or any other bro gaming journalist do any articles on those games? In order to parrot their analysis I need to read them first, you see

    Are you serious?

Between Crysis and Call of Crysis: Modern Cryfare, you enjoyed the latter?

Wasn't Crysis 2 where you just walk from check point to check point not needing to shoot a thing (and regening health)?

Crysis was fun, and beautiful. Except for that FUCKING ALIEN SHIP LEVEL.

alien ship level was kind of pretty, I think, I was stuck on it for a while, though... and it was made so that fucking internet guides and videos don't really help you

C1 had regenerating health too, what the fuck Jaesun

I don't think you could simply ignore enemies in Crysis 2 either... they gave you resources needed to upgrade the suit, anyway

There was this video posted on Youtube showing Crysis 2, where the guy was just basically walking through the level. It was hilarious.

Yeah Crysis had health regen, it didn't bother be much. As I much enjoyed the other scpects of the game.

Crysis was just a techdemo for the next TES game. Everyone knows FPSs can't be open world, the only way to make them is as corridor shooters like Crysis 2.

Jaesun, your words are music to my ears.

Crysis 2 = next gen garbage with more cinematics than actual gameplay

Crysis = a back to the fundamentals, basic, focused, SHOOTER and not a pseudo-movie

Honestly though the gameplay in Crysis was pretty land. For all those skills you had the only viable strategy was playing as the predator in what amounted to a driving simulator. Sure you had the entire island to explore but there was no point to it. I think warhead was pretty much a huge improvement.

Crysis2 on the other hand, while fun at times was just sci fi COD. One thing I hated with a passion was the checkpoint system, all of which were placed at inane places. Finished a scripted Driving sequence, but died afterwards? Well fuck you you get to watch it again because our game is too short!

How the fuck do you guys manage to play Crysis 2 like COD? That's some dedication there. It played NOTHING like COD when I played it.

I've only seen a clip with a guy ignoring all of the enemies from the last level, because he had his stealth upgraded to the max. You can't do that shit anywhere.

Ahhhh. That was probably it. I assumed that was how the entire game was.

No way you can wade through the game like that. Dumb Aliens gonna dumb.

The last level was shit indeed, but apart from that the rest of the game was quite decent. A lot better than that overrated tech demo that is Crysis 1.

I thought the area design was shit small console like areas in Crysis 2, as opposed the the wide open areas in Crysis?

Wide open areas that are shit and not really "open" at all, or small (actually, for a console game they were quite large) maps that are skillfully and professionally designed.

    Pick your choice.

    tru dat

did you guys know the game actually had a "save anywhere" system but the developers disabled it? the leak had it working... and I think there's a mod out there to "fix" that

it's not consolefaggotry if you played C1

At least in Crysis, I could jump ten checkpoints ahead of the checkpoint where I was supposed to be, accidentally complete certain objectives in advance of when I was supposed to do them, and return anytime to the first checkpoint goals...long after most of the level is finished.

In Crysis 2, I just walked in a straight line for much of the game.

Crysis feels like how original shooters used to feel. Don't tell me where to go; I'll walk wherever I want.

Original shooters? Like Quake, Doom, HL etc.?

    Oh you funny guy Wyrmie.

Crysis is not a FPS/RPG hybrid. It never was meant to be one. Those "side mission" were thrown in because it didn't seem to be much extra work for the devs, but the quality of the overall plot points was still utter shit.

Also enemy AI/difficulty in Crysis 1 was a joke. You could pick one after another Korean goon, and if they ev er came too close to you, you jjust ran away into the wilds. Try that in Crysis 2 (sans that retarded last level).

Did I say it was? Don't put words in my mouth.

I don't know why some people on RPG message boards think RPG hybrid automatically equals good.

I am not talking about side missions. If you remember the Mine/Quarry mission, I headed straight for the mines instead of first handling the first two military bases. I stole a tank from there and did the previous bases afterwards - essentially doing the whole level in reverse.

If they heard the rustling of leaves, they threw flares to indicate someone was there.

If you begin a loud slaughter in one base, a truck full of soldiers would be sent from another base miles away because of the explosions you are creating.

If you reach the other base before they reach you, the truck would turn around and head back towards your direction.

Alternatively, there were also ways to distract the ubiquitous helicopters by throwing a grenade far away from a hilltop to a valley and sending the helicopter in that direction.

The game was still too easy, thus destroying any challenge that could have made the game great.

I'm thinking of Far Cry 1. It did almost everything better than Crysis 1.

On which difficulty did you play it anyway? I believe you may have missed the helicopters that chased you across mountain to mountain or jungle to jungle. Or the machine gun positions which forced you to find a way to flank them.

I recently played it (well rather, Warhead) on Hard. It definitely was easier than C2 on Normal.
