Okay guys so in Nancy Drew's Blackmoor Manor I'm STUCK and it's making me embarassed

because I consider myself to be quite the nancy drew pro at this point, having completed the other entries in her beautiful series up to now:dance:

So here's where I'm stuck:

Great Hall:
I've found ALL of the pieces to move onto the next room but I'm turning the pipes and NOTHING HAPPENS!
Please help me, be sure to put the ansewr in spoiler text though.. I think I need to know WHAT order to turn the pipes, what I'm supposed to do after turnign the pipes,

And I think someone said i need to go to alchemy room? BUT IVE NEVER SEEN THIS ROOM AND DONT KNOW HOW TO GET THERE>!?!?

Help!

From what I gather there is no set order in which the pipes must be turned, but the two center pipes (Jupiter and the Moon) are likely to be in the wrong order. There's a page in a book that outlines what you should be doing.

Also, you have to catch a cutscene before the purpose of the pipes become clear, but that won't play unless you've taken the typing test on the laptop. If Nigel hasn't asked you to do that, then the cutscene hasn't played yet.

You need to arrange the pipes so that they form a circuit around the hall. The Jupiter pipe (T-shaped one on the left) should be turned inwards, while the circle on the Moon pipe should be turned outwards.
