I'm in Chapter 2 and I must have missed all these "frustrating moments". Are all these people walking around with maxed out loads? Once I figured out the balance system in the very first mission where you carry the body after experimenting a bit it has been smooth sailing from there.
Sorry to burst your bubble bro but you're pretty much still in the prologue.

Everyone i saying the frustration are in the early parts of the game and that it picks up considerably in chapter 3. I'm in chapter 3 now. So what's that supposed to mean? "early parts of the game" now lasts until chapter 10?

I'm on Episode Five and it's not any different really. It's like people don't know how to play games anymore or something.

Episode Eight now. Still not an issue. Many plot points are being revealed that explain a few lingering questions.

You are joking, right? They can't be THAT dumb, can they?
Well, they have the bullshit education system that they have. But that's alright, they can import brains from the functional educational system from eastern socialist countries so they don't have to be commies to have someone who can read and do math in their Holy Land of the Free™.

Inception was a very flawed, overly expository, and pretentious movie. Saying it is "too smart" is a classic defense mechanism for fanboys & apologists. Just because the filmmakers couldn't tell the story in a less boring way doesn't make the bored audience dumb. This is the same exact defense Kojima is using for this boring piece of shit walking simulator.

I welcome shitting on my countrymen, but this is fake news. It was only idiots in the media insisting how "smart" the movie was. And Vanity Fair of all places. No one can ever accuse them of being in touch with or a voice for the average American. SyFy? Well that name says it all.

The vast majority of H1-B ("smart" workers) and F-1 (student) visa holders in the US are from Southeast Asia and India.

In my experience all people are just as stupid as everyone else. They're just stupid about different things.

VF and SyFy are exactly the kind of outlets people who are easily impressed by big words ("Homo Demens", even worse "Amelie") read though.

I skimmed through the cutscenes on youtube and the stick and rope quote popped up several times. I honestly think Kojima came across that quote and thought it's the most profound thing he ever read, so naturally he felt obligated to base his next piece "art" of on it.

The worst thing for me is that this game is being praised like some groundbreaking idea that's "redefining" what it means to be a videogame while games like Pathologic and The Void are still fringe.

Pathologic and Void don't have the Sony PR machine behind them. They are also graphically ugly, don't feature Hollywood actors and have devs that act like actually devs instead of a prima dona who goes around demanding that everyone sucks his dick.

Okay, its tinfoil hat time.

Considering

1. How extremely similar the game's environments are to Iceland (I've been to Iceland twice myself, it looks exactly like this game's environments)
2. How dissimilar the environments look to the United States
3. The very prominent use of Icelandic music in the game
and
4. The stranded whale theme

I have a strong suspicion that the game was originally going to be set in Iceland, but then Trump won the election and Hideo Kojima got the brilliant idea that instead of making an anti-Trump twitter post like a normal person he would instead make his entire game into a "fuck Trump" game. Those Icelandic environments? They're America now. Why does America look like Iceland? Because magical timeskipping rain or something. And the main theme of the game will be about building bridges, because building bridges is the opposite of building walls. Wow such deep. And the game will about a man named (Uncle) Sam Bridges who traverses America trying to rebuild and reconnect an America that has been fractured by the recent presidental election, uhhm, I mean some sort of apocalyptic event. In other words: a man trying to make America great again by building bridges, instead of building walls.

Don't believe me? The first time actual gameplay was shown of from the game back at Tokyo Game Show this year this is what Sam looked like

Does that red cap remind you of anything? Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I rest my case.

I don't know man. I had the red cap on me all the time for the opposite reason. Thought it was fitting for making America whole again.

I tried watching 2 different playthrough streams and I fell asleep within 1 hour of both. But playing it is actually quite entertaining. Played it for 6 hours straight yesterday. Worst vehicle physics ever though.

Yes, trying to navigate any rocky terrain with that electric postal truck is highly inadvisable.

In my opinion, a well-written game shouldn't force a particular moral ideology down the player's trought, it should allow the player to choose themself what moral lessons to take from the game. In other words, the games main themes should be questions, not answers. E.g. consider a hypothetical side quest in an RPG where the player helps one of their companions track down a man who raped her 10 years earlier and she wants to take revenge by murdering him. When confronting the man it turns out that he is deeply and truly sorry for what he did, he is a different person now, and he begs the player to spare his life. A good writer would say "What do you the player think? Is revenge by murder the just choice? Is letting him go scotch free of his crimes the just choice? Maybe something inbetween, a lesser punishment, is the right thing to do? Or maybe the right thing to do is to leave it up to the victim to decide?". A bad gamewriter would say "X is the morally just choice and I'm not going to allow you to choose those other options because those are wrong".

The trucks have a jump function that is great for navigating the rocks.

It's not that. I should've said controls instead. The deadzone on left stick is 0 which means if you want to make a slight adjustment to the direction of the vehicle it has to be a really light touch on the stick which is clunky as fuck. Another thing is that there's no camera auto adjust when in a vehicle which bothers me.
