Not just the silly preorder gun packs, but a content DLC for $15. About half the price of what you can get the base game for now during the current Steam promo. I've heard it's about five hours long. Wonder how much more they'll milk this thing before we see a GOTY package.

Apparently it's pretty good and has better map design than the OC. But it's not that much content for $15.

I'll wait till it's on sale.

It's actually nice to see that they stopped covering everything with a piss filter. It's like a belated acknowledgement of their lack of sense.

And for once they didn't convert it 1:1 when switching to euros. It's 10.99€ for us eurofags.
Meh, i'll probably buy it if it's really 5 hours long.

Sorry for being somewhat lazy, but is there any more information about the DLC than on steam page?

Do you have to start a new game and when will this happen? I might pick this up.

It takes place in the sequence in DXHR where Adam goes into cryo for three days. The original game makes it seem like those 3 days were uneventful but Missing Link sorta retcons that.

From what I've heard you don't need to start a new game. It's a separate campaign in the main menu, since Jensen's augs reset due to some handwaving it means that it doesn't need to import your save or anything.

I wonder if there is still a hud even though his augs are disabled.

I will pick this up once there is a super sale on the base game, seeing as I already played it.

    Few answers:

    1) The review copy I played was a separate download on Steam, with its own executable, launcher, etc. (though the game options were the same). I thought this was for convenience's sake so that reviewers didn't have to download the whole thing again. Turns out that the final version is like that too - no integration with the base game whatsoever, almost like a traditional expansion pack, except sold as DLC. It would make a lot more sense if it was stand-alone.

    2) Level design is a good deal better (though the opening cargo ship is very linear and feels like Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory), graphics are mostly new assets and quite good overall, gameplay is more challenging than the regular game and you are deprived of equipment and augmentations, making things even harder, and the obvious push towards stealth/action/etc. paths is basically gone in favour of more open and freeform levels closer to the original Dues Ex. The levels still aren't really as big or open, but it's much closer to Deus Ex in this respect, with a much less guided feeling (ignore the quest arrow for best results).

    3) The HUD is still there. Augmentations aren't disabled, but rather reset to their defaults, so it's as if you just started the game. Eidos touted this as a chance to respec, but due to the lack of save integration it really just means you can do what you want in the context of the DLC itself.

Anyway, yeah, it's good, and even better than a lot of stuff in Human Revolution. It has tons of references to the original game and its characters, as well as a lot of the philosophical stuff that made the later stages of Deus Ex intellectually engaging - it isn't as well integrated into the story, but it still helps elevate it from the simple details of the plot into something that's actually a bit stimulating, and it just "feels more Deus Ex" for what that's worth. Still, $15 is a lot for the 3-5 hours it will give you, even if you do replay it a couple of times for the achievements. It's not unreasonable, but it is $5 too expensive for what it offers in terms of raw value - its production values are a lot better than most DLCs, but you are flat-out getting less gameplay than other DLCs, including New Vegas.

I am pretty sure Jaesun if fapping right now

BTW I don't remember, during the various steam sales are the DLC cheaper too or are they unaffected?
I would like to buy it but since this one seems to be more expensive than most it would be nice to get it on a discount

Yes, DLC can (and often does) go on sale, too, whenever the base game goes on sale. Obviously not now since this DLC was just released.
