Gotta appeal to all the CoD kiddies.
Also unless Corvo is voiced by Jean-Paul Audrain (Garrett's VA in French, who did an excellent job) there's no point in playing the French version.

That's what I'd love to ask Dishonored writers.

Yeah, pretty much the only good thing from the predecessor, along with the level design (which wasn't exceptional, though).

First one was boring and unchallenging as hell and there's no reason to expect this one to be any better.

Yes. Partially because of the lack of challenge.

I's a common criticism regarding Dishonored.
Storytelling through environment or eavesdropping isn't something easily accepted by today's standards.
Hell, you can basically miss the main antagonist final speach if you don't pay attention. This resulted in people complaining the ending was anticilimatic.

But that isn't why the gameplay was boring.

True. Reread my post about the player vulnerability in Thief vs the player being godlike in Dishonored. You always know the enemies can hardly hurt you because you kill with a button press. Even if you are sincerely trying to play with stealth.

I could make a Thief speedrun and knock every retarded Benny out while I breeze through (I'm sligthly exaggerating). That makes Thief unchallenging too. But I'd never say it's boring, because it's design principles are sound.

Dishonored has it's design, both mechanics and leveldesign, pretty much nailed for what it set out as it's goal. What D2 needs are just larger, more challenging maps and improved AI routines. That should hopefully be possibly with that extra oompfh of the new consoles.

That's your prerogative. I personally get the most joy out of games that allow me some creative latitude, even if they're a bit on the easy side. As opposed to say "tough" games that only allow repetition and trial & error.

What about games that allow some creative latitude and are "tough"?

In comparison with Dishonored even Thief and Dude Sex are "tough".

The first Dishonored would've been a good game if it was released a decade earlier than it was.

Actually, you can replace "a decade" with "prior to 22nd November, 2005"
