The book does contain some superficial attempts to defend metaphysical realism and critiques of relativism, but you can find a more sophisticated version of this type of argumentation elsewhere. What makes this book interesting is that it shows that central authority figures act like charlatans in a variety of scientific topics they don’t understand and are revered for that. That is not up for debate. That’s a fact. You just need to check their references, citations and see for yourself. But this is just one of the many criticisms. There is the obvious pretentious obscurantist prose that is characteristic of charlatans, where enormous volumes can be summarised in a few pages of trivialities or evident falsehoods devoid of premises. The evident poor and shallow argumentation (ignorance of predicate calculus, informal logic, etc.), the lack of understanding of basic concepts of metaphysics, epistemology, ethics; the poor (if not inexistent) treatment of traditional philosophical problems and concepts (truth, objectivity, reality, etc) that are either rendered obsolete or must be reimagined in a radical fashion, the confusion about the nature of philosophy (cultural studies and armchair sociology are confused with metaphysics), the infatuation with academic masturbation involve more anaemic areas of culture like cinema, and literature, to the detriment of science topics and genuine philosophical problems; the ever-increasing radical narratives that are supposed to overcome and surpass everything that came before, etc. The list of red flags is endless. If a person can’t tell the difference she is either clueless, or wilfully blind with big names, or both.

Been playing this lately. The AI has been hilariously idiotic. In one fight a magister killed himself by taking 3 (THREE) AoOs by my party members who were surrounding him.

But that's normal. We know the AI is prone to taking AoOs.

BUT THEN, in the same fight, this happened:

The guy I circled in green KILLED HIS FRIEND! Incredible. I don't know what triggered it, given that he seemed to have no plan following the murder of his friend.

I don't understand what triggered this, especially considering that Crippling Blow is a single target ability, but it was hilarious.

I could only thank him as I killed him. Made my fight easier for sure.

IIRC Crippling Blow had some (not displayed) AoE up until newest patch.

I read this and just have to interject: it's often the undergraduates (bachelor's level) students that think themselves and their peers the smartest people on the earth. They have tasted fruit from the tree of knowledge, and it has inflated their self worth. But they're usually too young to appreciate the difference between learning something theoretically, and truly knowing it. The knowing comes through experience, practice, and thus age.

Note how the undergraduate sees the undergraduate in this image:

how people in science see each other (open)

It fits with reality, in my experience.

If I don't know about the game I may wonder if this is a heavy metal album.

You can see few things in this photo:

    - Steam Machines. They're showing PC version there, at least for public.
    - New camera guy after Thomas.
    - 2B's back.

More codexers should have posted metacritic reviews, could have gotten it up to 95 or more.

Act 4 spoilers, if anyone still cares...

    Show Spoiler
So I decided to beat the doctor at his full power... I came up with a cheesy solution, but I didn't see another way to do it. Also I don't give a fuck, because it felt good to execute it.

I stacked a shitload of metal crates (and a chest) in front of the back door (each crate has about 10k hp), teleported him inside after he transformed and closed the door. Afterwards it was a matter of getting rid of his 26k of armor... enrage + onslaught by the red prince took out a lot of it, the remaining party members worked on the rest. I made sure to knock him out as well so he could never do shit. To my surprise he regenerated 8k physical armor per turn, but it was not enough to overtake the damage I was capable of doing.

In the meantime, his army gathered in front of the door, very slowly going through the metal crates. I had well enough time for to kill Adramahlihk.

The picture shows the moment when Adramahlihk was near death, but there were even more crates in the beginning of the fight. I think the amount of crates I got was just right because the rest of the gang was about to get through the crates.

After he was dead, taking care of everyone else was just a matter of casting thunderstorm, meteor shower, hailstorm, etc (apotheosis allowed for this) because everyone was bunched up together trying to get through the boxes.

Cheesy? Yeah, as fuck. Still kinda proud of it though.

Soundtrack for the fight: Audioslave's self titled album. Was awesome.

User reviews are out of 10; it's the critic reviews that are out of 100 (and which are usually the big deal, as they can't be gamed very easily), so unless Codexers decide to land a job with IGN or something, there's no way that's going to happen.
